Pushing 40 myself with my clubbing days mostly behind me, I've never felt out of place at a MoS night; always quite a mixed crowd age wise, with a nice relaxed atmosphere.
It's a massive opportunity to whore night rides on the coasters, with nearly no queues, beer available everywhere, and the option to bounce around a sweaty dome with a load of kids afterwards. I recommend.

the new MAP T&C dont allow standard passes into Thorpe during weekends in the summer so least that will keep some of the riff raff out

Hopefully! Nothing would jazz up a car journey to the Towers like some Smiler music or Galactica music! Unfortunately, I don't think my family would really approve of that being put on in the car...

Well, Thorpe's potential X retheme to the Walking Dead may have just hit a minor snag. If you don't already know, Disney announced plans to buy Fox. Now correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't Fox show the Walking Dead in the UK? If they do, then Thorpe could be seeing high licensing fees coming their way!

There will be no snag. All contracts will be signed, sealed and delivered. Fox getting bought out by Disney is a big, arguably worrying deal for the entertainment industry, but they will allow each organisation to carry on relatively as they were, at first. They have much bigger fish to fry than cancelling tie-in deals at regional theme parks!

You make a good point. In terms of theme parks, I think Universal should be more worried than Thorpe, as they now have two very complicated contracts with Disney (Simpsons and Marvel).
Yeah they may not renew the existing contract once it expires, but they can't rock up and say "hey we now own fox and we're doubling you license fee", that's not how contract law works, as much as Hollywood would love you to believe different.
Fox doesn't just show TWD in the UK, they handle all distribution of TWD/FTWD outside of North America so as the Plastic Person put it, they've got bigger fish to fry short term, but it wouldn't matter anyway since unless Gimple pulls a master stroke, the show is doomed and will likely be cancelled within the next year or so due to nosediving viewership figures.

Why not, they took on two dead IP's in the last 18 months too.
They probably took the decision to to try and acquire the IP back when the program had millions of viewers and was generally popular, I'm pretty sure they didn't sign a deal a week before announcing it and even the greatest speculator couldn't have predicted what has happened in the last year at AMC (multiple lawsuits, fraud accusations, storyline ruined due to language policy, massive budget cuts and a general desire to devalue the IP once all the dodgy crap they'd been up to accounting-wise was made public so it can be justified, sacking of key cast members causing the story to veer so far away from the source material that even it's leading star hasn't yet renewed his contract, probably to acumplish the same devalued state), TWD is the only show that makes AMC any money and they are facing multiple billion dollar lawsuits not just from the original show runner who was sacked some 7 years ago but the author of the source material himself), unless Merlin were very close to the inner workings of the show, I highly doubt they'd have realised what was going on behind the scenes at the time.
