General Hotel Discussion

Nope, That link doesn't work either.

If you have Discord paste the photo onto a private discord server then right click and press 'copy image address' then paste that URL into the picture icon in the post option.

I believe Imgur works too though.

There was literally nothing to do. The event should have been cancelled like Drayton did today. I know the weather can’t be controlled but some common sense needs to be applied.

95% of the advertised attractions were shut and nothing extra was put on at the hotel. We basically paid £250 to play in the snow.

Like I said it’s just a shame and so frustrating, the Santa’s sleep over last year was one of our favourite trips to towers. There was a reasonably large price increase this year and a big decline in quality, from the room presented to the hotel food. Even my pint was off!

I really genuinely love towers but the price increase and lack of general quality for money is really showing now.

That’s really dusty and shows a lack of attention to detail but isn’t quite disgusting.

I’m sorry that the snow meant the rides were closed, but I guess if the entertainment staff were already busy with the panto and other staff manybe couldn’t arrive due to the snow I would assume it would be difficult to put on more entertainment. Maybe they could have got some simple indoor games out like Jenga and stuff. I assume you did get access to the water park while the theme park was unavailable? But what else would you have wanted?

The issues with cold weather is one of the main reasons they don’t open theme park areas in January and February but December is rarely as cold.

Do you really think that’s acceptable at the price charged? I’ve stayed in Travelodge for £12 and at least the place was clean.

Your answer is kind of my point. The event should just have been cancelled on the Saturday when it was obvious the weather was coming in.

What was the dust on originally, before you mopped it up with your hand (I hope you bleached it afterwards)

It was literally everywhere:
  • Top of tv
  • Top of the bed head board
  • Bed side tables
  • All over the tv table and in the cups
  • Table by the window
  • Bathroom work surfaces
I’d be interested in knowing the hotel occupy rates especially out of park season. It looked to me like we were the first people in the room since the fireworks weekend given the amount of dirt

Yes the dust is unacceptable, but not disgusting. Missing dust is a poor standard of cleaning rather than a disgusting uninhabitable room.

You are probably right that it hadn’t been occupied for several weeks, hence things other guests would have made dirty such as the bathroom would be OK but a buildup of dust from the room being unused.

But them missing some dust makes you wonder what else they missed in the room. I'd also question if they changed the sheets after a long empty period, or if they leave the dusty, fusty ones on?

A lot of complaints on TripAdvisor relate to the amount of dust in the rooms. Obviously the staff are being rushed to do as many rooms as possible in as short a timeframe as possible. I was seriously thinking of heading up for the NYE event but I just cant bring myself to stay in any of the hotels anymore until they sort out all the issues with the quality of the rooms, not to mention the food in the restaurants.

Yes the food was abysmal in comparison to last years sleep over, the cuts were quite staggering.

Can you tell which desert is the luxury ice cream sundae and which is the child’s ice cream?!

Thats awful, its not even in a sundae glass! The same ice cream and sauce but in a proper glass with a little whipped cream would have looked completely different

For me its not just about the presentation, its the actual quality of the food. I ate in SG a few months back and the lovely thick Aberdeen Angus burgers have now been replaced with cheap, thin hamburgers, similar to what you get in the Burger Kitchen. Served luke warm. We ate in Flambos over Scarefest which was pizza and pasta offering, consisting of burnt pizzas all looking identical, uninterested staff and dregs of tasteless pasta. No wonder they wanted us to pay upfront before eating.

I just cannot justify NYE paying £175 each for a substandard hotel and very substandard food.
