it certainly was - I smashed it three times last year - nothing much on the horizon so far in 2018 - obviously Merlin did some good discount early doors which is gradually reducing. Will keep an eye out for 50% - often corporate or similar - I used come EM50 or BRO50 booking on-line and SUN offer over the telephone. Also smashed CWOA with similar offer from the Sun - SUN17 - only doing 25% this year which is poor if MAP holder as barely any difference. Fans of the BLUE LIGHT CARD will note the 50% reduction for THORPE PARK is valid all season (with some exceptions)
 
No, no need to collect vouchers, this has been live now for the past few days. I took advantage of it and booked accommodation couple of days ago. The 40% discounted price is no difference to the January sale price :rolleyes:

MAP pass holders can use the code through the Merlin holiday club site

I looked at the February sale and they were only offering discount for with tickets packages and it excluded Sunday 4th November (I assume as the park is closed on the Monday). Therefore for me the Sun offer is a better deal.

Although the price still isn't great, I paid £70 after the Sun 50% off for ATH last Fireworks Sunday, this year its £139 (down from £162)! Its only actually giving a full 40% off the Enchanted Village rooms
 
I just checked and the prices are the same for holiday club and sun code, so at least they are being consistent, but unfortunately you can't get an additional 40% off holiday club prices, otherwise it might be worth it, I'm buggered if I'm paying £339 for a Lodge at fireworks weekend for little more than a Travellodge room.
 
Usually The Sun code is my go-to offer. There's only a £50 difference between using the code and paying full price on the dates I'm looking at. £50 is £50, but it's hardly 50% off and I'm in no way inclined to book now. Had it been a full 40% off like previous years I would have booked in a heartbeat.

Yep, The fact it doesn't even discount it to under £100 means I'm not thinking of booking in a hurry. For two of us £100 is my go-to reasonable price for a hotel.
 
Anyone know how long the discount code will work for, is there an end date for using it (when the voucher runs out, not when the hotel stays are)
 
Oddly the 8-page pullout is in today's paper!

They are also doing a deal where you can upgrade the 2 free tickets to a season pass, for £25. Not a bad deal if you're ok with all the exclusions of the pass (and having to buy The Sun for 10 days)!

Another benefit of having to buy the Sun for 10 days...
Little article on page 6...Yorkshire residents are the dirtiest in the country.
They wash their bedding less than people in any other county.
80% don't change their bedding at least weekly.
Can't say I'm surprised.
Extra scrub up for Friday please gentlemen.
