Thorpe Park: General Discussion

Thorpe Park have cancelled their AP day for 18th March due to safety concerns regarding the weather.

Islanders, because of the forecasted weather for this weekend, we have taken the difficult decision to cancel our Annual Pass holder Day this Sunday 18th March 2018 at THORPE PARK Resort.

The health and safety of our staff and guests is our number priority and having the highest concentration of thrill rides in the UK, drops in temperature and high winds affect our ability to operate our coasters.

The most important thing to us is that our guests have an amazing and safe experience, and as our rollercoasters don’t like the cold any more than we do, we would like to offer you a special Saturday evening event this Easter on Saturday 7th April 2018 from 6pm until 10pm.

You can use your current Eventbrite tickets for this and it means that you will be one of the first to experience our new attraction for 2018 – The Walking Dead: The Ride.

We’d also like to announce that our two additional Annual Pass holder dates for 2018 will include one for summer on Saturday 21st July and our Fright Nights preview event on Saturday 29th September.

For any of you who were already booked to stay in our SHARK Hotel, you will now be able to change your reservation for another date excluding premium days at no additional cost.

We look forward to welcoming you back to THORPE PARK Resort for our Year of The Walking Dead and our series of unmissable events including The Walking Dead: The Ride from this Easter.

A Saturday evening in April as replacement, given how the weather seems to be defying the global warming policy and Russia seems to be chucking everything in our direction, what chance the replacement day gets snowed off too? LOL

I assume the gubberment policy of insisting that "global warming" exists despite decades of obviously cooling weather?

The correct term would be climate change. ;)

The gist of it is that weather is becoming more extreme, with hotter summers and colder winters. Global warming isn't really accurate.

Yeah, they had to come up with a new name once people realised it was all obvious bollocks.

In other Thorpe-related news, TWD:TR will apparently be in a new area of the park alongside DBGT known as... The Dock Yard!

And TWD:TR will feature no actors, which makes that press article about Jordan’s new job a bit misleading as it had actors in photos.

I don’t think it is that unusual water filled dummies with no brains are used to test rides.

Walking Dead- The Ride new entrance has been leaked... safe to say, it looks terrible. I really hope that this isn't its finished state..

Other than the fact that X's pyramid hasn't been repainted, I think that looks quite good! Well done Thorpe!

On a side note, if anyone is at Thorpe today, have they removed baggage holds like Alton have, or do they still operate? Because Shawn Sanbrooke is at Thorpe today and he has been posting a lot more photos from in the ride stations than normal on Facebook.
