The Merlin VIP Annual Pass

This how you identify someone using the disability pass, when they touch their card to the reader at the entrance it will go blue (Disney uses blue instead of red), the staff member looks at the screen and press something the reader will the flash green. Someone using a FP will flash green straight away. If it’s not the correct time for a FP it will flash blue but the staff member will speak to the guest. What you need to watch for is the reader flash blue then a few seconds later will flash green.

And this is why I bought my family VIP passes. That way people can hate us because I spent a lot of money and not make my Son feel like **** for needing rap
There's really no need for hate either way., But either way it happens...

The thing is people who don' need/use the rap system don' understand why it is so important to people that honestly need it. But I honestly think the parks haven't made it easier to understand for people as they let people abusie the system and that causes the bad feelings. I'm not a rich man I'm not traveing to Merlin attractions outside the UK but the fast track option just made sense for my family so now people can call me names that my family have these passes and my son daughters can just enjoy there day out. As for the comments like "but you can que to get the rap" I've never when using rap gone first thing in the day. And when I do get it my son is normally else where until his hand needs to be stamped.

I'm surprised that the Mods haven't step in here, this is off topic, what has the RAP got to do with VIP pass and fast track. Perhaps we should have a separate topic for RAP/disabilities?

Blame all the RAP users that keep referring (bragging) to it as a means to fast track the rides. You only have to read some of the post on here and other social media sites. I too have family members that have "disable kids" and they are always bragging how they use the RAP to queue jump the main queues. I also over hear the general public bragging about they use the RAP to queue jump the rides. Last year, Jess and I was waiting to watch an animal show at our local zoo and we over hear some strangers conversation, they were planning to go to a theme park and that they were going to invite a friend who is disabled so that they can use the RAP to get on the ride quicker and how great it was using the disable queue. As a carer of a wife who is severely disabled and requires extensive care, I find comments like this very offensive, being disabled is not a life style choice and the disable facilities are not a privilege or a perk, these are a much needed lifeline for those that genuinely can't use the normal facilities.

If we are going to change how the non disable people attitude, perhaps the disable need to stop referring to the RAP as if it is some form of fast track for the disabled as oppose to what it is intended for :)

We've proven we don't need moderation, the conversation has fizzled out in its own time.

I will say that those people planning on using RAP to skip the queues you heard will have got a shock when they tried because it doesn't work like that, on most coasters it's max of one, maybe two helpers per RAP user, sometimes, especially on busy days, they will restrict it to just one. It's only non-thrill rides where there is no limit (like the Rapids at Alton). The rest of the group will have to use the main queue.

Funny enough, Chessington has the most relaxed carer rules, maybe that explains why there's such a problem there.

People brag all the time, it doesn't mean they have experience of said bragging, my son has this idiot friend who 'has a VIP pass and gets escorted onto rides and free food when he goes' - he doesn't have a VIP pass and last time he went to a theme park was with us in 2014, he just lies because people will listen.

I got the vip pass for me and my son as we have done the premium pass deal for a few years.
We both like to ride multiply times (isn’t that the whole point of the rides?).
I can tell you the best place to be on smilier (3rd row right), stealth (right at back), colossus (at the back but brace your neck). Wickerman(front or back right hand side), nemesis.(at and to).always front..
And I can also tell you after a 26 goes on the smilier in one day your neck will hurt!

You obviously haven't met a certain VIP obsessed with the smiler yet.

Slightly off topic but I know of somebody who has done stealth 202 times in one day (I’m struggling to believe it but he says that’s correct)

He did it for a world record thing didn't he? Back I think in 2016? There was a guy there once when we went and he had a dedicated row set off just for him.

Jaime Longstaff also did it a couple years ago for Merlin’s Magic Wand.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I will be riding Stealth: The UK Fastest and 2nd Tallest Rollercoaster on Weds 20th may... from 10am til 5 pm... that's 7 hours of non stop* launches.

*Apart from a toilet break!

I wouldn't mind trying to beat that record!

Probably because no ones reported it, having moderated this forum you can’t read every new post all the time.
