That's good to see at least. Looks like its queue really struggles on one train operations.

How much testing is it likely to need before being put back in operation? Rumour on other forums that it failed part of it's closed season inspection and had to get new parts manufactured by B&M.
 
Did you manage to ride Wicker Man? Also, how much of your visit has been spent waiting for it?
Rode Wicker Man once, got there for the advertised 9:30am opening and we got on it at 11:45 ish.

Last hour of the day was considerably better, the rain emptied the park!

I been thinking about this. And i joked about it.
However, Francis Jackson and the head of technical services (can't remember his name) make a video together about why new rides take time to settle in and usual issues in the first few months.

Just leaving! Had a great day, just still can’t get my head around opening half the park at 11.
The sky ride was very hit and miss- the attendant said it was due to three ‘tech guys’ ringing in sick so they couldn’t test all the rides early enough (sky ride didn’t open until 1.20!)
 
To be honest, I think Jackson and the rest of the crew are probably trying to keep their heads below the parapet on this one. I say this as, if they admit that there is actually a serious problem with their star spangled new ride, it's admitting that they have made a mistake (with regards to operation) and the media will try to crucify them.
 
A ride attendant just told my sister they test Wickerman so late as they can to save gas on the special effects?!?!?!

I went on Sunday and was in/around Wickerman till 11 and they hadn't been using the fire effects on 'Big Bobs' shoulders at all - testing or while open. But when I went on 25th March they were using it all day. Maybe they are waiting on more gas...:rolleyes:
 
With regards to Nemesis only being on a one-trains operation, and correct me if I'm wrong - couldn't they just use the working rows of the broken train? Like, instead of one train running with 8 rows, two trains running with say, six each?

I think Nemesis is the one coaster they could probably get away with this on, as even with reduced weight it would easily clear the circuit

The second train has literally been in pieces, it has not been at all usable. I'm unsure as to what exactly needed doing to it however it has been a major piece of work.

I’ve had two free tickets arrive today via The Sun offer. So my first visit this year will be this Saturday. Reading all the reviews of poor operations fills me with slight trepidation that my day will be disappointing even before I’ve even got there.
 
@delta79 the head of tech service’s name is terry (unless there is somebody new). Both trains on nemesis have had major work done over closed season, it been made even more complicated by the fact that due the the new restraint style the inverted coaster trains design has slightly changed.
 
The train they are using now has been complete, I’m guessing a conversion to vest restraints would be too complicated for towers to look at doing.
