Oh and my heart felt sympathies for the lady running the Doughnut stall by the Sea Life centre. Single handily making the doughnut mixture, making the doughnuts, taking the orders on two tills and serving customers as well. Under staffing in a nutshell. She managed to keep a smile on her face despite the growing queue of punters.

That's ludicrous. They're going to run out of staff soon. Then they'll not need them with no customers.

Nemesis also has had new red lighting installed:

I don't care about the red lights, it isn't inferno.
What I do care about though is the empty seats I'm seeing.

Surely this has always been a problem with Nemesis though. SRQ has now been out two seasons and we all know why, the reasons were more agreeable than with Smiler, Thirteens and Oblivions

I've just been working my way through the calendar pencilling in some short breaks. On days that I assumed would be quiet, the accommodation prices are high (indicating higher demand) and on some there are no enchanted sheds left, which surprised me.

I am not sure if that is perhaps a symptom of the park being closed midweek, if people are indeed flocking back full stop, or both!

Its the new ride affect. Next year with no new ride and the shocking customer experience. It will be nice and quiet all year.

Don’t think they have discounted the prices much on quiet periods this season. Pushing people towards the winter sales.

The hotel discounts this year are total pants.
Last year Fireworks weekend in EV paid £195 included a 50% discount
This year with a 40% discount comes out at £337

Ridiculous prices but I'm sure people will still pay it

They will, it's called Häagen-Dazs syndrome, it's the first thing they teach you at business school.
It goes in cycles, people have got used to continuous sales, so now we're in the "double the price and discount it by 40%" phase, even if less people book, you still make more profit.

The Häagen-Dazs part is people now associate high prices with high quality, which any of us who've stayed on site know the room are little more than a nicely painted Travelodge room and not in the slightest filling the criteria for high quality.

Bring back A-Band-On Ship! They were great and the only entertainment I've enjoyed since the days of Tanya and Dickie.

Can't say I really liked The Fabulous Scott Family, they were OK, but guests seemed to like them. Will be interesting to see what gets put on the stage now.
