Toverland: General Discussion

The large building on the left houses Fenix's station and queueline, and the boat ride Merlin's Quest's dark ride section. In the middle is the Flaming Feather restaurant and on the right is the station for Merlin's Quest.

Wonder if they will still make the advertised 7th July opening date because there is still a lot to do...

Erm, I know B&Ms go up quickly but if this opens as a fully themed area at the start of July then I will be shocked.

Do we know if there has been more progress with the new entrance area?

Toverland are going to be doing a series starting April 13th on the building of Avalon &/Port Laguna. Looks like it will be in Dutch with English subtitles. I think it will still be an interesting watch like the Symbolica Efteling series was.

The first episode of The Making of Port Laguna & Avalon has been released, needless to say that this is heavily inspired by Efteling's making of videos:



Some nice remixes of the Magic Valley soundtrack in there!

It actually really disappoints me that UK parks don't do constructions / planning updates like many of the European parks do. Especially with all the effort they go too, telling stories and providing glamour construction shots. Its such a great way to advertise the park, new areas, and build hype!

I cannot wait to see more of these.

If it's like The Swarm, then it will probably ride better than it looks! I got some great positive G's in Swarm's helix on Sunday!

I have high hopes for the soundtrack, Magic Valley is still one of my absolute favourites!

I know that video updates aren't always popular here but at least it's not an ICON update from me this time! Yesterday I took a guided walk around the construction site at Toverland, my video is here;



I did take photos as well, but my photobucket account is long gone so I'll be sharing the photos on PBE socials.
 
Toverland have just posted this photo to their twitter account, stating that Fenix is about to take its first flight this evening!

Dutch fan-site ‘Loopings’ also appears to be present and are currently posting video snippets as the coaster makes a very VERY slow ascent to the top of its 40meter lift!

All aboard the “Ooooo, that looks slow” Express ;)
