2018: Park Operations & Ride Availability

She just wanted them to have a look for it, but they said no

You'd be hard pressed to find a tooth in an average size garden if you were racing around it at 45mph and it flew out, let alone nearly a miles worth of track spread out over the size the Smiler is, that is literally like asking someone to find a grain of salt on a beach, when you don't even know which part of the beach it's located in.

Also they don't look for stuff lost in ride areas during the day, unless it's something REALLY important like a diabetes kit (true story)...

Or a mobile phone belonging to an on call doctor.
An on call doctor would be at Alton Towers?
I know some doctors that give over the phone specialist advice to other doctors.

I known one from our local specialist hospital did one from the seating by Galactica using a laptop on moblie data and a phone.

I was planning on going tomorrow but I’m not if smiler is closed all day, I want to go on it on every trip in a season.

There are clearly significant technical issues with The Smiler at the moment.

It has been closed all day!

I was going to say,to be fair to Alton - they always try and get things running if there are guests waiting. Even if it's ride close.

Going off topic but it follows what Dan put, Thorpe managed to get Swarm back open with 10 mins left of the the day and with a 0 min queue last Tuesday.

I rode Wicker Man 3 times today in the end, only queueing a little over an hour at the end of the day when it broke down. To be fair to them, they got it back up and running before 6 and got us all on. Have to say I was impressed with operations on Wicker Man today.
Also, the 3 times I rode today it was advertised at 120 minutes and was actually around 60 each time.

My mate was telling me that his mum went on Smiler last weekend and it shook one of her teeth out. It wasn't even loose. Just vibrated the tooth out because her jaw was being smashed about so much due to being on the back row. Then to add insult to injury the ride ops wouldn't even retrieve it for her.

I've heard it all now. On the notice board it does say in small writing: Fixodent required.

WTF? Was the tooth 24 ct gold or something. Seriously? Surly not worth the hassle of retrieving a tooth that is only worth £1 from an imaginary tooth fairy

Nothing is presently unavailable! Well done Towers! Hopefully this means that the rough stretch at the beginning of the year is done, and that now they can only move onwards and upwards from here!
