Wicker Man - General Discussion - Part Two

As is the case with any form of intelligence, whether that be something to do with theme parks or intelligence about criminal activity, the source is never revealed.

Anyway, let's get back to Wicker Man rather than or not information is to be believed. Hopefully the issues with the fire are sorted out soon; it may not be noticed much when riding however it is spectacular when off-ride.

:)

You know what.....I had loads of rides on Tuesday on it (probably too many hahahaha) and the fire missing wasn't an issue at all. I don't think it has a huge impact on ride really. It's something you appreciate more off ride I think.

Definitely needs to be working at scarefest though. That's when it will have its biggest impact.

Indeed. Off-ride in the dark, the fire is incredible and lights up the entire area. Then on-ride when you pass through the Wicker Man for the second time the fire is really noticeable and adds to the experience.

:)

I cant wait. I don't usually do scarefest as haunted houses don't really scare me nor Interest me.

However I will definitely be making a trip or 2 this year for WM at night. And Nemmy too.

Be nice if they ran summer nights too for the holidays but I think that is probably very unlikely.

The problem is that it get's dark far too late in the summer for Wicker Man to be able to operate in the dark. I got lucky on it's opening day, it was the weekend before the clocks went forward and the awful technical issues and operations (and subsequent long queue) meant it was pitch black by the time we got on!

:)

Interesting to note that the designer of Wicker Man, Bradley Wynne, left Merlin last week.

Hopefully whoever takes over will be equally as qualified.

:)
I assume it's on good terms as it still shows him as working at merlin on linked in.

Sorry if this has already been asked but what's the issue with wickerman?
I can't fathom what sort or issue would cause it to need testing every 15 min!

Originally it was overrunning the station, which then triggers the sensors causing the ride to "shut down" but I was sure they resolved that however, it may still be an issue.

I believe the overshooting was been fixed now, as the trains now brake in a stop-start fashion into the station, rather than braking smoothly in one go (which I think was causing the overshooting issues). It now seems to be the restraints that are causing the major issues (not registering as being locked e.c.t).

I see, I knew about the stop-start hence why I said I thought it had been resolved but was unaware of the restraint issue.

Really? He's down as having designed Alton's 2019 project. These MMM creatives really don't stick around for long, do they? First there was Candy Holland who designed Thirteen and Raptor, amongst others. Then there was Ben Dowson who designed The Smiler amongst other things. And then there was Bradley Wynne. And of course there was John Wardley.
