Well I would say Fluch von Novgorod is a top class experience, although admittedly, the theming gives it a big bonus.

Mystery Mine looks great, too!

Exactly, Euro-Fighters are the best experience roller coaster model you could find but does the ride alone hold up to a ride like Nemesis, Maverick, [insert other world renown ride here]?

That's why I'm sure Gerstlauer will be able to make a great ride but if it's a standard Euro-Fighter model it'll be up to Merlin to pull off some really impressive scenic/dark ride elements to make it something really impressive.

Is Rage really that good? I've heard it's a great little ride but nothing amazing. Although thanks for reminding me to give Adventure Island a visit.

Hard to say. I genuinely think Speed is great. It is all about the whole experience though, which is why Novgorod is such a great attraction.

Rage is good for a small, off the shelf ride!

Looks like the water feature that should of happened on Air has found its place on SW7 :)

Cant' wait for construction to really pick up, forums are dead at the moment. I love a good discussion over some new intresting photo's. Roll on the first week in October, we will finally get to see some track, that should create some discussion :)

Here are some photos taken today at Towers, You can also view more of them on the Towers Street Facebook page.

Rebar anyone?

Site overview, notice the Blackhole sub-station building has now been removed:

The ever growing hole:

Because the construction fences have moved further into X-Sector, these new signs have been added, directing people around the Oblivion hole:

There is no need.

It was 95% to do with saving money!

I think it was the full 100% to do with saving money more than anything....

I know it's been said already, but that hole is absolutely huge now! Wasn't expecting this based on the plans or anything, surely this isn't just for the cobra/batwing section?

This might have already been asked but is it possible the plans only show the highest points and the track between is different, allowing them to pass planning permission but keep the world's first ext a secret?

Would it not explain why that hole is way bigger than expected?

Only the three remaining tent supports remain of the Black Hole tent! And if that hole gets any deeper & bigger, it will be a Black Hole! :p

I think the station will go up very soon. You can see at the back of the site they have now cleared it all and its been made flat, plus with steel work on site I could see some action over the next week or so. then once thats all done we will see track installed. Especially if inside the station there is a worlds first, it would make more sense to build this first and test it.

The planning issue is complex, the roller coaster didn't need planning permission but the building and at least the spider theming element did. However because plans have been submitted for the coaster does that mean they have to follow them even if they didn't originally need the permission for it. Or are they free to change at will, unfortunately my knowledge of planning law is limited :D

If the blackhole maintenance shed has gone then power must have been sorted in the new sub-station so that's promising, if we want to see vertical construction before closed season though we need footers soon.

I would have thought they could change the layout as they wish, but they woukd risk annoying the locals if they are shown plans of one thing and then end up with something completely different. I think if they were going to change the layout they wouldn't have shown any layout at all, that way nobody can complain that it's different.

The layout on the plans is the layout they're building. Simples.

The hole is a bit bigger than I expected but the plans do show the ground is going to be lowered.

Source? :)

It almost certainly is but there is some questions on this point, why where the submitted plans done in NoLimits and why is the ground work more extensive than indicated on the plans. As said the layout indicated is probably correct but speculation on the point isn't as stupid as a lot of speculation we have had in the past.

JW and Gerstlauer are fans of NL, maybe they just imported the model onto the plans rather than having new drawings made.

The layout was too detailed to not be real, surely?

There were some faults with the layout that was in the plans. For starters the supports very clearly intersected the track at certain points. Also as the people who modelled it found out the interlocked inversions did not allow enough clearance space for a path to fit underneath (could this be why the excavation is deeper than we assumed?)

However I believe this was more to do with the plans being a rushed export from NoLimits and not because the design was inaccurate. For this reason I suspect the final ride will look about 90% the same as in the plans.

Am I the only one imagining this scenario on opening day when nobody can get on the ride because the track is on the path because they forgot? :p

Also Dan (Nemesis94) found the track that went underneath the spider thing didn't have enough clearence to pass beneath and he had to alter it.

There are questions about it at least
