Thorpe Park: General Discussion

This all sounds really dodgy if you ask me. Not convinced at all that it even has anything to do with Thorpe Park.. I guess time will tell...

Thing is though, say it isn't Thorpe. Would they go out of there way two years before releasing a strange youtube video, place graffiti in the park with the same 0? It's not like the markings were written in pen on the toilet doors.

Walking dead the ride no longer has actors in it.
According to a TPW tweet I just read.
o_O

Excuse me while I just go and bleach my eyeballls.

Well that ride lasted a long time then if the tweet is to be believed

Wait........X (Sorry TWD:TR) is a pyramid shape?

There's some wierd shizzle going on here. This is starting to feel like a Zombie apocalypse style, survival marathon type thingamajig. Maybe Zero is code for Zombie. It is year of The Walking Dead after all.

Just discovered I will be visiting Thorpe this Sunday! I hope queues aren't too long! Out of interest, is there anything specific that you guys would like me to look out for while I'm there?

Project zer0 is definately not a hoax. The official Thorpe Park social media channels have been posting messages with 0's instead of o's. The clues so far have been closely linked to Fright Nights. With the Year of the Walking Dead kind of de-valuing the Fright Nights event somewhat, maybe this is something big for this season's Fright Nights?

Or they've just noticed the hoax too and are playing around with it!

New ITV reality show takes viewers behind the scenes at Thorpe Park
Finally, Colossus gets its own show!

First Dates viewers are used to some cringeworthy telly (remember when that divorced couple turned up together?!), but the show's producers might be aiming for even more thrills and chills with their next show.

Production company Twenty Twenty recently announced that it is partnering with ITV on a six-part series taking viewers behind the scenes as actors and actresses audition for TV, adverts, West End Musicals… and theme parks, apparently.

Had a good day at Thorpe park on Saturday (May 19th). Think there was a fair number of new staff, we got a free refill on the annual pass cup at one stand.

Had it's it's down sides too though, swarm was being sent with empty rows because the baggage hold (which I was at first pleased to see open) weren't getting through people fast enough. At one point we queued longer to get our bags back after the ride than we did to get on the ride, they were swamped and obviously would've been better with one new member of staff and one experienced one until they got the hang of where all the numbers were.

The audio after dark was crap. Random urgent messages to collect supplies when it was otherwise quiet meant a lot of rides lost their atmosphere.

Wasnt too impressed with the annual pass only attractions, in my opinion an annual pass is simply a ticket I purchased and perks shouldn't be offered at the detriment to guests who bought a one off ticket. Was a real shame to see guests dissapointed and turned away at the gate. Maybe there is a better way to offer the perk (after regular closing, or at least advertise that the ride will be effectively closed after 6pm). It was still showing open and 20 minute queue on the boards, which is going to be a bad guest experience.

As for TWDTR, I thought the corridors were great, added a good bit of suspense. I was less impressed with the mannequin (to see a couple moving might've helped). The stall effect with the coaster car mid-ride was really great though, very impressed with that! Both actors in the ride (mechanic and walker) were great and putting their all into it!

Overall, excellent day out though (above are nit picks), the queues were moving reasonably well, swarm was super smooth and it was the first time I've seen it in the dark and it looked fantastic. Effects were all doing well in the day time, with fire on swarm island and steam around nemisis inferno. Tried the sticky sisters for food and was reasonably impressed.
