Thorpe Park: General Discussion

The problem yesterday seemed to be wickermanesque, that is the restraints wouldn't register the green light at the ride dispatch. So the poor staff had to keep pushing the restraints up along the whole train to check.

Fair play, the Intamin airgates are more responsive to tomfoolery than those by other manufactures. I'm not sure if it's a case of them being more sensitive to movement or more prone to movement via the actions of @spinba11 and others.

It's quite painful for operators on rides like El Toro and the like.
I’ve never caused a ride shut down by swinging on gates.

Whats going on north of London? We were staying in a hotel near Bagshot and had power cut on Thursday morning. Not very reliable supply near London obviously.

Alton's power consumption surely is causing problems.

I meant I swing on stealth’s gates as I know they aren’t sensitive like Colossus’s gates but I know I shouldn’t as even stealth’s gates will have a limit, @ihaveaspergers has seen me do it.
Yep but im sure your aware I wouldn't mind dragging you Away from bays if you misbehave!

I was cracking a joke, you said you hadn't ever caused a shutdown through swinging on the gate, so the facetious side of me jokingly considered you might have caused a shutdown another way because of the way you said it.

I’m baffled as to how they are making these late night openings pay.
3 nights a week
It’s just never busy at all. By 8pm was having rerides on Swarm

Stayed for the MoS night and even that wasn’t as busy as it should and has been in the past.

I'm sure people were still around it was just that the queues weren't as long. On Thursday the queue for collosus was still 90 mins at 8pm and people around. The bar was also busy with people spending their money!

I've been offered 2 free tickets at Thorpe on 30th August.
Its tempting but also a 400 mile round trip and I won't arrive until 12 if the traffic is good.
So you think it's worth it ?
