Your Top Ten Coasters

I've not updated my Top 10 since March 2017. Since then I've been back to Japan & the USA. I've also visited Hong Kong, Shanghai and a few european parks for the first time. I've now visited 150 parks and been on 826 roller coasters and this is my current top 10

1) Steel Vengeance, Cedar Point
2) Maverick, Cedar Point
3) i305, Kings Dominion
4) El Toro, Six Flags Great Adventure
5) Skyrush, Hershey Park
6) Iron Rattler, Six Flags Fiesta Texas
7) Outlaw Run, Silver Dollar City
8) Eejanaika, Fuji-Q
9) Formula Rossa, Ferrari World
10) Phoenix, Knoebels

Honourable mentions to the rides that didn't quite make the cut go to Storm Chaser, Fury 325, Flying Dinosaur, Raptor, Wildfire, Griffon & iSpeed

Has el toro got significantly tougher? I think I rode it in 2007 and I still rank it as number 1, simply stunning. Would love to compare it to steel vengeance

I lived in NYC for 2 years in 2009/2010 which was when I last rode it and it was perfectly fine. Still my number 1 coaster all this time on but I'm going to Cedar Point in 2 weeks for the first time so I think it might be finally beaten by SV.

I have heard El Toro has become a lot rougher over last few years sadly. Still supposed to be awesome but not quite like it was. I can imagine some of those sharp turns are quite painful now if it's become a bit rough as the speed of the thing is just insane.

It is rougher than when I rode it in 2011, yes. However I think that is to be expected with any wooden coaster. I would not say that it is signigicantly rougher; I was still able to ride in 10 times in a row without holding on at all. As with any wooden coaster with cars of 2 or 3 rows, do not sit in the back of each car directly over the wheels.

:)

Been about a year since I last updated my top 10 on here.

9. Olympia Looping Various

Honourable Mentions to Big Thunder Mountain and Icon just missing out.

I’m new to this and only visited a few parks but..

1. Icon - the launch, the airtime and hangtime and the smoothness and reridability puts this at number one for me
2. Wickerman - the moments of airtime, the speed of that thing and the whole experience from the moment you enter the queue to the moment you leave the shop put this pretty much in joint first place
3. Nemesis - the helix into the zero g is all I can say. So intense on the back and scenic on the front.
4. The smiler - such an enjoyable ride for me not that rough but it’s just fun and the airtime is amazing. My top 4 are pretty much equal.
5. Swarm
6. Dragons fury
7. Oblivion
8. Stealth
9. Th13teen - my first rollercoaster!
10. Galactica as air

Okay my cred list is quite small before you all start laughing at me :(

Yes well that wasn't really a surprise now was it.
2/ Oblivian.

9/ The Blackpool Woodies.

10/ Ben 10

The Blackpool Woodies?! You can't rank them all as one, that's not how it works... :p I'm triggered....

Lol I think they had different names when I rode them back in 2002. I'm sorry that your triggered ;) maybe a lie down in a dark room?

You also can't rank a coaster that no longer exists! ;)

It does exist though CP have said it's coming back in 2020 :confused: I for one will be there on opening day to welcome her home (Yeah I'm being sarcastic)

Exists: to have real being whether material or spiritual. Which I translate as it still exists in our memories...

Thanks for the support

Think I got off lightly there

I haven't been to towers since 2015, when I was scared of going upside. That has changed though, but being from the south, going to the Northern parks is difficult.

I have to travel five hours south every time I travel to Alton Towers. I must be living in the bloody North Pole if Alton Towers is classed as "northern" :tearsofjoy:
