Size

hi everyone, I’m a complete novice at the whole forum thing, anyways we are going to Alton Towers on weekend of 6/7 Oct for my birthday celebration. Weekend away without our kids. Anyhoo, I’m posting as I need to reassure myself (or maybe not), I’m a bit paranoid about my size, I was 18st but am now 16 very nearly in the 15 bracket having lost some weight obviously, and hope to loose at least another half soon before we go... I’m 5.6 and I think size 16/18 woman. Chest measuring 44, waist 34, do you think I will be ok on all the rides ?
This post isn’t a pee take etc, it’s a genuine worry, I’m working very hard on loosing and worry the walk of shame will make me feel awful.
My thighs are pretty normal, it’s just the chest mainly ?
We have been plenty of times before but I’m at my biggest now. Pls help x

You should be ok, I'm sixteen stone and tall, but I know a number of people of my weight who are not as tall and get on all the rides.
There are some bigger seats, but if you need them staff will discretely redirect.

Firstly, welcome and congratulations on the weight loss. Great work :)

Myself and my friends are all bigger in size than you posted. (Only the the ladies in the chest measurements but it's close with a few of us males ). None of us have ever had any issue at Towers.

Galactica has a test seat at the entrance and some of the rides have bigger seats if needed but I am certain you'll be fine everywhere. You might get squished in tighter than you would like as staff double check your restraints to ensure they are not in the last click.

No need to stress, go enjoy your day :)

The only ride I've heard any kind of problem on is Wickerman so be wary of that but judging from others' responses you just be absolutely fine. Have a great time!

Well done on your weight loss. I'm over 18 stone, I'm not sure how exactly that happened, but have always struggled with my weight and would love to get 3 stone off in the next year or so. I'm quite big built anyway, so would struggle to ever get back to under 14 stone. According to the stats, for my age, height, etc, my 'ideal weight' is about 12 stone 9. No chance! Had a good long think about my diet during the holiday and am starting to put some effort in today. I learned plenty from slimming clubs in the past, I just find getting to the meetings a pain and resent paying a fiver to stand on the scales once a week. So trying to go it alone calorie counting, hard work but just have to go cold turkey on some things and knuckle down! I've lost a couple of stone on separate occasions in the past so know I can do it again. Then keeping it off is even harder.

Anyway, I don't have any major issues getting on rides and see some bigger people than me getting on stuff (and some turned away), but I'm yet to do the walk of shame. Got very close on Thirteen this year, poor girl next to me had to get up and walk off, it looked touch and go for me as they came back a couple of times to push the bar down deeper into my gut. Most uncomfortable ride ever. No other problems at Towers, at BPB the seat belt on The Big One is almost fully extended though ! Enjoy your trip and good luck with getting the pounds off

So next time I suggest a bike ride on the prom or a nice swim in the sea before the Beach you will take me up on the matter then dippy.
Middle age spread mate, you have finally got to the stage of being able to afford whatever you want to eat, whenever you want to eat it.
Put that with a sedentary job, and you are knackered.
Bike the lights in the next few weeks then dippy?
