2018: Park Operations & Ride Availability

I've never seen them close rides due to rain,

An electrical storm is another matter, they stop all outdoor rides until the storm pass
Yeah fair enough, I wasn't sure as when people were talking about Nemesis closing it sounded like they would expect others to close, just not nemesis.

Going Sunday regardless, think I might drown.

Skin is waterproof.
Rides do run quicker.
Queues are shorter.
Staff are often more attentive and friendly in the rain, they have the time to chat and take the Mickey.
So I am now happily heading to the Beach in the lashing rain for the afternoon, rained off from work.
Free beer for any tyke who says hello at Mme Crevettes at 2pm...
Edit...
Even non tykes.

Looks like Nemesis is currently closed due to the amount of rainwater in the pit. Considering this was the state of the Rapids this morning:

And the lake:

Would be interesting to see the extent of it...

Park chocblock today, car parks full. Ride operations very good though, hardly any downtime. Nemesis using extended queueline.

However, the ridetimes were over the top. For example, 90 minutes on The Wickerman was actually 45 and so on. Really good show today, augers well for scarefest

Park was much quieter today, operations seemed smooth except an instance of Wickerman having too many people in the preshow so we couldn't leave the room for a while after, and Galactica oh my god. Sat in my seat for a full 5 minutes before the restraints were even checked.

What was the status of ops on the weekend?

Dunno if anyone's interested but on Thursday there was;
  • Nemesis - 1 train
  • Galactica - 1 station with 2 crafts
  • Oblivion - 1 station 4? shuttles
  • Wickerman - 3 trains
  • Smiler - 3 trains
  • Rita - 2 trains
  • Thirteen - 2 trains

Midweek closures have made the remaining days more busy both at AT and Thorpe.
The rain saved face for Alton, queues weren't too bad in the end. Did get wet socks in the Smilers swimming pool though
