Drayton Manor Park

Indeed, but atleast the links are in place. To put it into context, London Euston to the main gate of the park can be done in less than 2 hours. It takes longer than that to get too Alton Towers via public transport from Tamworth, which is less than 1/3rd of the distance.

The park needs to take a risk to get people in. Speculate to accumilate. The risk could go either way but the park can't just carry on with it's head just above the water. Removing rides to cover the costs, otherwise there will be nothing left and no reason to go back. I would be all for stretching the budget for a decent vekoma like a firestorm or bemuda blitz. I think it would make a good statement of intent. You don't need an RMC or a B&M to pull the GP in. Just market the hell out of it and make it look nice.
Yes, i agree. Towers has shown this year how a new flagship attraction, and laughably cheap season pass pricing can help kickstart visitor numbers.

You need to give people a reason to visit, a big draw if you like.

This is my 30th year of going to Drayton Manor and the big difference Drayton Manor have had over other theme parks is offering rides/attractions before other parks so maybe they need another dark ride or thrill ride not available at another uk park.

The parking pay machines are up at the exit / entrance however not in operation yet. Nothing has happened with G Force other than closed for maintenance sign outside along with barriers too. There's small improvements across the park including painted signs on the floor at the crossing of the train to keep clear. Unsure but when riding the train it looked like splash canyons photo booth may of been painted but not sure on this. Oh and then there's new merchandise in different colours in like the pens etc. That's all I noticed on my short visit today.

Well new merchandise is always good. Any t-shirts or hoodies?

G-Force has been removed from the website now- confirmation that it won't ever be opening again. :(

To be honest I'm still surprised to see G Force go, considering there's many coasters with the same design that seem to operate fairly smoothly. Plus, there's a clone in Iraq that (as far as we know) is running fine.

We need more upside down lifts in this world!

Yeah I'm pretty surprised I mean G Force by all mean wasn't anything special. But for the park it was one of the very few thrill rides they had on offer. It was always a big advertising point in alot of ads G Force was always there. Its a shame and a risk for it been one of two thrill coasters. I'd love to see a thrill replacement but it's just not all that realistic although I'd be happy with a family thrill along the likes of a woodie

The fact that Splash Canyon is still on the website despite having been closed since May 2017 and G Force isn't when it shut earlier this year definitely implies that G Force is gone.

However, I'm still holding out hope, as the park has never explicitly come out and said that G Force is leaving for good. I believe it's only ever been stated by the park themselves that it's shut for the foreseeable future. Which could mean a potential revival in a couple of years' time if we're lucky...

I think the park feel half a million is too much to spend on a coaster train repair when maybe you could buy a new design train and retheme the attraction for the same price.
Also with new trains could lead to the ride getting a 1.2m tall ride.
So Drayton can technically pay £500,000, but they don't view it as financially viable. That's fair, in my opinion; I'd personally rather Drayton spend the money on a brilliant new ride, if that's what their finances allow for!
