Galactica vr to stay or not?

So I haven't seen anyone post anything about this yet, so thought I may aswell make a new thread on it. So what do you guys think will happen to the vr on Galactica next season. Do you think it will stay how it is on back 3 rows or be removed completely?

I know it's an unpopular opinion, but I actually do want it to stay on the back 3 rows. Did it last weekend with both VR and non-VR and honestly I really enjoyed both. No audio on VR but the whoosh of the air past my ears was good enough for me

As I’ve said before, if they were to remove the VR then they’d have to rebrand the coaster again.

I actually don’t mind the VR other than the effect it has on throughput. I’ve done it a few times and I think it’s timed well, decent visuals and without glitches, which is the opposite of the ghost train at Thorpe. It’s not as if it’s destroyed much of a theme as, by wardleys own admission, AIR was never heavily themed as the budget didn’t allow for the intended plan to come to fruition.

But if it were to be removed, which I can understand the argument for, then it can’t remain Galactica surely? You can’t have a space themed roller coaster outdoors unless it’s VR?

Again, I’ve said this before and it’s likely dwelling in the realms of fantasy, and even if it did happen I’m not sure I’d trust Merlin to pull it off. But if they did remove the VR but wanted to keep a space theme they could make it an indoor ride, now that would be cool if done properly. Like space mountain but flying. Although I guess the dome needed to in-case it would probably be above tree height?

I really hope the VR stays, because Air isn't a particularly exciting roller coaster without it. The VR is the best I've tried so far. TBH though if they do drop the VR, which seems likely I doubt they would rebrand again. "Galactica" just sounds cool and most people probably don't give it more thought than that

Galactica but without the VR. Adding VR to rollercoasters always seemed a silly idea to me so I'm glad the fad is on the way out.

The money put into running and staffing it could be put to better use across the rest of the park. It has a negative impact on queues and throughput.
Can only hope it gets removed asap.

Hopefully it'll go, it wasn't being used today (due to tech issues according to signage but clearly a deliberate decision to boost capacity on a super-peak day).

The VR is mediocre at best, and reduces capacity by at least a third.

I do not understand VR on coasters. Why travel all the way to a theme park, only to then ignore your surroundings by strapping on some unhygienic goggles to watch a poorly rendered simulation of space travel?

It’s bonkers. Another cheap way for Merlin to market a new ride. Get rid now.

Thing is there's not a lot to see on Air to begin with. Once you're over the initial excitement of flying, there is not much too it, at least in my experience. Plus it's only on one attraction, there's still plenty of non VR coasters

VR probably needs to stay, and I actually really quite like it. However, they certainly need to fix audio issues, fix the straps to be elastic instead of the horrible velcro, and need to make sure that VR and nonVR are both standalone full experiences. In an absolute ideal world, we would have separate stations, one with Galactica theming, the other with redone Air theming, with one train full VR, two without. They could even do some clever stuff with marketing, as both themes are pretty much the same concept, just one a bit higher up in the sky. Although, I would fully take just the additional of audio saying "Assume the position" when the trains tilt

It’s a waste of money and time - the problem is removing it would leave a real mess in terms of theme

Personally remove Air altogether - shame as it was once a great ride and had brilliant potential

Leave it as it is, always hear a buzz in the queueline with people excited to try it - and if you want to ride it as "Air" you are waved past those who don't, so the queuetime is a lot less than advertised.
