Thorpe Park: General Discussion

I don't understand how Thorpe are able to produce better opening times than Towers when Towers are doing a lot better in terms of attendance & revenue and have lots of on-site accommodation now.

Notice they’ve also cut Summer Nights to 8pm close instead of 10pm - not surprised at all though as it’s usually dead.
But they have changed back to 6pm close for Sunday’s so at least they’ve reused those lost hours from 10pm close.

Be interesting to see if they can turn it around and have guests who are satisfied with their visit.

Apologies if this is old news, but it looks like Thorpe are copying Towers and launching their own Season Pass.

EDIT: link removed as it contains my personal info :oops:

I believe Thorpe were knocking out season passes for the day gate price before Towers, I had one around 2014 I think. They were introduced mid season and I think they've been available since, not certain though as I've not had one since.
Up until now they were annual passes not season.

In other news I'm hoping Thorpe staff In general end up with a small bit of training in relation to autie and aspie guests, I'm not the only person with ASD who has had issues with thorpe.

I’m quite surprised by Thorpes hours, nice to see no 4pm closes and I guess the 10pm summer lates were just not needed judging by queue times.

Shame we can’t have some of it at Alton.

If the 10pm summer lates can't work that's fair enough, at least they tried.

8pm seems to be the worst of both worlds for the park in some ways though; not late enough to make an evening only ticket a viable option, people leaving early enough to get their evening meal elsewhere, but still the increased costs of running everything for a few more hours. Limited extra direct revenue for their outlay.

They didn’t offer an evening only ticket anyway?

They certainly did, was £10 initially, think that rose to £15 around 2016. Not so sure about last year or so but pretty sure it was an option at £10 again, and was a £10 charge for AP's.

The ticketing got out of control at one point, with normal tickets, summer nights, island beats and Ministry of Sound all clashing with different prices, tickets and access.

Why would there be a charge for annual passes just to stay in the park until 10pm? If you arrived at 10am you can stay until 10pm (8pm this year) in the summer, there is no extra charge.

Unless you mean Ministry of Sound which is a separate ticketed event where day tickets are not accepted. the normal late nights (called Love Island Lates in 2018) are included in day tickets.

I believe pluk is referencing the Summer Nights event in previous years, which incurred a charge for Annual Pass Holders.
