Hi guys. I'm back with my first trip report of 2019, and it's from somewhere a bit different today! For those of you that don't know about it, Folly Farm is a wildlife park in Pembrokeshire that also has a vintage funfair; it's been a family favourite of ours for years now whenever we visit Pembrokeshire! Anyway, my family and I decided to pop in for a couple of hours this morning and see what Folly Farm had to offer.

We firstly started by having a walk around the outdoor animal enclosures. Folly Farm has an absolutely huge selection of animals, including penguins, lions, giraffes, rhinos and much, much more! Here are some photos I took while we were walking around the enclosures:

In my opinion, the enclosures are really nice and spacious for the animals, and they actually have some nice theming around them, as you might be able to see from some of my photos! The collection of animals at Folly Farm has also greatly expanded since my first visit many years ago! Many of the animals were inside today, and I couldn't blame them, as it was quite cold out!

After that, we went indoors to the vintage funfair; the part you're probably all more interested in! The funfair here is quite big; it's entirely indoors, although there are a couple of other outdoor rides scattered around the site. The rides cost between 50p and £1 each, which I didn't think was bad value, especially considering the length of the cycle you get on each ride! Anyway, we rode 3 rides while we were in the vintage funfair, starting on...
Sizzler
This is one of those vintage Scrambler models that you see at many theme parks across the world, and it was great fun! A really long ride cycle with a fun level of spinning throughout! If you've ever ridden one of these before, you probably know what to expect, but this ride is great fun, in my opinion; definitely one to check out if you ever visit Folly Farm! After the Sizzler, me and my grandad went on...
Ghost Train
As the name implies, Ghost Train is a classic ghost train, and it was fun for what it was! Not a particularly long ride, but certainly a nice example of a classic ghost train with some different scenes and lighting effects that you'd typically find in this type of attraction (witches, skeletons etc.); it was good fun for what it was! My grandad came out "petrified", in his own words! After the ghost train, me and my nan rode...
Skid
Now, the skid is kind of like a waltzer, but each car has a brake in it that you can push down and release to spin the car; it was great fun! Quite forceful, and again quite a long ride cycle, which is always good! Me and my nan both enjoyed this attraction; I'd probably say either it or the Sizzler was my favourite attraction we rode today!

While we were in the funfair, I also took a few photos:

After that, we took a brief look around Farmer Glyn's Jolly Barn, which is another large indoor area with a variety of different farm animals, like pigs, goats and ponies. This is another great area, in my opinion, with some nice theming and enclosures for the animals. While I was in there, I took this panorama:

After that, our time at Folly Farm came to an end. On the way out, we walked through the gift shop, where I saw this particularly nice item that I thought you guys might like to see:

And then one last view of the park's ferris wheel, which was unfortunately closed today due to weather:

So, in conclusion, Folly Farm is a lovely little attraction to spend some time in! There is much more on offer than I just mentioned, including a ferris wheel, a go kart track, more funfair rides and more animals! I know that the main draw to this area for many of you will be Oakwood, but I'd definitely recommend checking out Folly Farm while you're here, and I hope you found my report from this slightly different place to usual interesting!

Wot?
No creds?
Nice report Matt...how far away from Oakwood is it?
Eighteen exclamation marks, good use of colons and semi colons, your bucket of punctuation is still overflowing.
Thanks @rob666! According to Google Maps, it is 12 minutes away from Oakwood by car; Oakwood is in Canaston Bridge, whereas Folly Farm is in Kilgetty!

There are no roller coasters in Folly Farm, but I reckon one might make a nice addition to the funfair in the future!
