I didn't mean the TS website - I meant the Alton Towers one - Apologies I misread the forum as implimented at AT :S

I didn't mean to cause any offense about the Towers Street website which I think is infact pretty good.

No worries, nothing like a good misunderstanding! In that case, I agree with you! :p

On the height restriction page, it may be useful to talk about the many other restrictions on the rides such as the ability to walk unaided and the number of working limbs required to ride as I sometimes see people complaining about those and how they will sue under the 2010 equality act (which specifically exempts refusal on the grounds of health and safety). I also think it would be worth mentioning that you are slightly taller in the morning as that also causes problems when someone is tall enough at the start of the day but not by the end. The Wicker Man restrictions on the towers street page list a 1.88m max height restriction but I can't find any evidence of this on the official website or app. If the towers street team could reply to me and possibly add these ideas to the height restriction page that would be much appreciated, Thank you.

...what!?
It is indeed true that you can apparently shrink by up to 0.5in between the morning and the evening, so that is a plausible scenario.

Also, Wicker Man's height restriction isn't 1.88m, as my 1.98m dad has ridden it problem-free multiple times.

I'm under the impression that the height restriction has more to do with whether they can lock the restraints securely in place or not depending on your legs getting in the way due to height

There was originally a height restriction mentioned for Wicker Man prior to its full launch - I think mainly due to longer legs getting in the way of the restraints locking properly. This wasn't mentioned on the ride board when the ride opened, so this is no longer mentioned on the height restrictions page. I don't feel it's worth mentioning people's heights change during the course of the day. This is unlikely to make a difference to most if you factor in the time they have spent stood up/sat down travelling to the resort - those extra cm are likely to have been lost not long after they have woken up!

In terms of your suggestion about ride access, this wouldn't be classified as a height restriction so wouldn't be suited to the heigh restrictions page. Alton Towers already provide a disabled access guide via their website, and as its subject to change more so than height restrictions we feel its best people get that information from an official source.

I've just noticed that the Cred street carousel and Turbo star have reappeared on the height restrictions page.
Please can these rides be removed from that page.

Actually whilst we are on height restrictions I have afew corrections for you:
Charlie and Lolas has no height restriction
Rapids is upto 1.1m unacompanied
Peter Rabbit Hippity Hop is just 0.9m and they can ride unaccompanied (This is wrong on the AT website)

Thanks both of you, all updated (no idea how Turbostar ended up on there again!)

I've been looking through the site a bit, and I've noticed a couple of things:
  • It says that Mexican Cantina closed on 4th November 2018.
  • The Stargazing Pods are not mentioned at all in the Resort section.

How would you write about the stargazing pods, would you try to put a positive spin on them like Towers try to or would you describe them like they really are (and I don't think I'm the only TS member who thinks they are basically over-hyped pig sheds given what other members have said).
