Thorpe Park: General Discussion

I had someone do this to me on some car park barriers once, but in 5p’s and 10p’s. Luckily he was one of the last few cars out so I had no concern whatsoever in counting them all really carefully whilst he waited... and for every unpleasant name he called me, I’d become distracted and unfortunately lose count.

Highlight was when he had to retrieve the few coins that had gone just under his car.

The petty wins really did count in customer service.
 
Hi guys here’s my latest walk though monks walk Thorpe park. We decided to drive to Thorpe park over the weekend as they released some news of things that will be happening this year like bouncezilla and jungle escape to see if we could see anything new. But the weather was a bit rubbish lol so made it pretty slippery lol.

On the topic of the ‘ridiculous’ car park charge, I thought I would also mention this.

To anyone visiting the park this year who has an issue with the ludicrous amount, don’t take it out on the staff. Unless their attitude and behaviour is unprofessional, they are just trying to do their job and who virtually no say in the procedures or cost of how that car park works.

I would suggest writing feedback to them or emailing higher management, should anyone wish to complain about this. At the end of the day, they are humans too!

It wouldn't be Thorpe closed season without photos/videos of stripped down Rapids boats through a fence from Monks Walk.

Never understood the appeal, but each to their own.:p
 
Thorpe Park really needs to sort it's website out as if you click on resort info and then opening times and travel and then open up cars it still shows parking at £7

It does mention prices subject to change etc, but nothing about the great sting that awaits you if you dare not to book in advance.

I can't wait to hear your reaction when a staff member tells you that, legally, they don't have to accept any more than 20 pence worth of 1p coins. They can then stand back secretly smug knowing you've wasted many hours of your time to try and be needlessly petty to staff members who have no control over decisions, and failed miserably.

But you would have the satisfaction of knowing that with 300 angry drivers in the queue behind you, they would likely just waive you through without paying... Winner winner chicken dinner!

Oh and before you ask, all Yorkshire people have done this. It works!

And when I inform them I have no other methods to pay, they will be forced to either accept the legal tender I offered, let me out for free or hold me prisoner, which they can't do without calling the old bill.

Can we stop posting just a string of YouTube videos? A YouTube video is only worth the same amount as a post on this forum, ie one person's opinion. If they wanted to post their opinion on here they would. Just asking, why do people put 'YouTubers' on such a pedestal? Anyone can edit a video these days, it doesn't mean their opinions are well informed or theyre doing it for any other reason than to get views.
 
To be honest I do find the majority of YouTube videos people post here to be a mere reflection of a post on the site.

Honestly I’m shocked by the amount of videos on YouTube by amateur creators making up random speculation videos that wouldn’t even be noticed if it were a post on here the amount of views that some of these channels get are stupid.

I only post a video if I believe that it can add value to discussion which I can’t explain very well.

I would use the term 'discussion' very loosely when describing the way people post in the public communication methods on those platforms. Be it Youtube comments or Facebook post comments.
