Ride Improvements

I have been walking along Blackpool Prom today it the amazing sunshine. I spent some time watching The Big One do it's thing - a ride which I am so frustrated by because it's intention was right, but it fell so far short (IMO) of being the special thing that it was intended to be. So I got thinking about how it could be improved and came up with two thoughts:
1. The banked return loop - drop it down so trains dive into the turn. This would massively speed up the turn and increase the intensity.
2. Open trains. Something like what is on Shambhala

Another ride that could be improved quite easily would be Oblivion at AT (a ride I would love to see the track extended on) - floorless trains.

Floorless would be nice but Merlin won't make such a major change new evac procedures are required...

I would actually RMC the Big One if I had my way. It's has a foundation they can work with and has the potential to be a winner again. The turnaround needs to ideally be the opposite way round (clockwise) but certainly a dive would help matters! It would be great to lower and reprofile the return leg to actually generate airtime on all the drops, and upgrade the operating system to allow 3 trains to run together.

It's a good ride but has the potential to be a great ride, and IMO it actually deserve's some money spending on it to make it that quality it should be.

I don't think The Big One needs modifying for the ride experience, though will admit that the wind speed issue could be reduced.

The ride does exactly what it needs to do, the majority of park guests love it and I firmly believe that the money would be better spent on increasing the coaster lineup (or improving ride capacity across the park) rather than modifying an existing coaster.

The Big One's queue would still shift well on 2 trains if Speedy Pass wasn't a thing and the operations were fast.

It really was a hypothetical point regarding making the ride better... not my view on future spending. On that note, I think the next major investment should be to get shot of the S&S Ice Blast and replace it with an Intamin drop tower. Followed by a new B&M hyper coaster - something similar to Intimidator at KD... Not that I've thought about it
