I think the rapids turntable runs on a slower speed now than it used to, add to the fact it’s now max 7 rather than 8, and the fact they don’t always boat share, but the lack of boats compared to a few years back. You have a long queue for rapids!

Also I guess with the flume gone it’s the only real water ride unless you want to be soaked on battle galleons.

As for bank holidays, they are generally really quiet as lots of people think they will be packed, so don’t go, which makes them quiet. Plus people often have work the next day.

To be fair it’s been busier the rest of the weekend. Since a lot of people are back at work/school tomorrow it makes sense that it would be quieter today.

Browsing social media today & yesterday there seems to be no mentions of “large groups” there this year on Easter Sunday?

None today and they had lifted yesterday's alcohol restriction. Park was actually the quietest I've seen it this season as well.

Bank holidays Monday’s are always quiet, everyone assumes it will be busy so don’t go.

Been like that for 20+ years in general
Spot on! Tomorrow will be way busier than today was, as folks think they are being clever by avoiding the Bank Holiday Monday.

Also, Good Friday & Easter Monday are normally the quietest two Bank Holidays at Towers, as they normally fall in the middle of the school Easter Holidays, when many families go away. Obviously this is not the case this year with Easter being so late - but many schools are back to normal tomorrow.

does anyone else think it's awful that Alton Towers didn't pay tribute to Notre-Dame? Alton Towers, as a place that also has an old building should have done something surely? A minute's silence? Or a minute's applause actually. If you're stuck in a 90 minute Smiler queue a minute's applause for Notre-Dame would have been quite a touching tribute. Park wide, sealife right through to the hotels, everyone just clapping, hooting and hollering about Notre-Dame. They could have announced it over the park tannoy system and literally everyone would have gone nuts for it. I dare say it would make a lot of people's day. I personally have never applauded a cathedral at a theme park, but if I had I'd be telling my friends about it for the rest of my life. Skyride station goes up in flames they're besides themselves with grief but one of Europe's most iconic cathedrals, nothing. Your silence is deafening Alton Towers.

I really don't see why they would. What makes this incident more noteworthy than any others? Yes, it was a nice building but in my opinion there are so many tragic events happening throughout the world that are more noteworthy - Sri Lanka for a start.

At is about fun and enjoyment - if you start by having a minutes applause/ scielence for an old building going on fire with no fetalities - where would it end? What makes this incident note worthy for At, and not those who have just died in the earthquake in the Philippines?

Minimum they could donate a couple of ‘closed for fantastical refurbishments’ signs.

They deffo have plenty of those knocking about the place.

RMT has been opening at 10am recently, leaving only Duel and Rapids on a later opening at 11am.

Is this a permanent change or just during Easter?

This is a joke comment right? Think this post wins the most ridiculous comment of 2019 award so far.

I'm sure they burned Wicker Man as a show of solidarity for days on end....and lets be honest, we are overdue a skyride BBQ
