2019: Scandinavia & Snorri Touren

Looking at the latest status of Scandinavia’s reconstruction, it’s getting there, but scaffold is still up and there appears to still be a fair amount to complete. I wouldn’t be surprised if the opening were delayed by around a month.

Looks like the start of the street on the right is going to be quite different to before now that there will not be any HB Leisure games stalls.

I am LOVING the teasing new Fjord Restaurant crockery on top of that coffee machine. Though I didn't know bubble waffles were considered a Scandinavian delicacy! ;)

With the opening of Is Huset, the new entrance gate to Scandinavia is now fully visible as the barrier have been moved back behind it. Still SO much work to be done to Scandinavia as a whole though, looking more likely this will be the very back end of July/beginning of August going by recent movement. EuropaStreet announced on Facebook the other day that the opening of Scandinavia will officially be on the 23rd July, with it soft opening from this coming Friday (5th July)!
Fantastic news! I'll be glad to see the area back on its feet!

Glad to see construction seems to have kicked up a notch in the past few weeks. It was looking worrying that they'd even finish this Summer on our visit last month!

It's so narrow (which I like). They may keep the gates by the church open, though.

Scaffolding is down and Scandinavia is due to pre-open later on today. Some final preparations are taking place such as putting planters in to place:

Although it will likely to be safe to walk through the area, it is clear that there is still a fair bit of work left to do before the official opening later this month. It is good to see that it is nearly completed though.

It also seems that Vineta has been replaced with the Snorri shop.

There was a live stream earlier from the area, worth having a flick through to see inside the new shop etc. LOVE the new Fjord Restaurant. The kitchen has thankfully been moved to behind the stairs, with the ride hand side now all seating. A much better layout and it looks far more open than it did before. No more squashing in waiting to be served with people pushing past for the toilet - yay!

At long last, common sense in Fjord Restauraunt! Love the look of it though!

Fjord Restaurant was one of biggest concerns of this whole project. I adored how the old restaurant looked and felt, it was one of my favourite restaurants on park, and I was worried that it may become a lot blander when that initial interior concept was revealed.

So I am relieved to see that it actually looks brilliant inside! Still a lot of character which I am sure they will continue to add to as time goes on. The downstairs layout is much more logical and there generally seems to be more seating.

Can't wait to see it for real come the winter!

I'm just catching up on the video now. Fjord Restaurant looks excellent and much more spacious, I hope we can nab that new balcony for drinks during our annual winter trip.

Park Erlebnis has also posted an article regarding Bamboo Baai's possible re-opening later this season.
