Really! You had the line "who ever wrote this script need the sack" in the video.

They said it was reopening in june but that was a lie wasn't it!

And that is probably the reason why they didn't give a timescale for Wicker Man repairs. The social media backlash would have been horrendous if they'd said it would open today and it didn't and hundreds of people made the trip because they'd been told it would open.

Someone obviously forgot to press the publish button the other day when it was closed...

Again accurate reporting as usual

The Nemesis rollercoaster is undergoing repairs
It is the second ride to have closed this week, after the Wicker Man was also shut to thrill-seekers on Tuesday, June 25.

The wooden rollercoaster opened in September last year.

How come not picked up on Enterprise, by time it opens they’ll report it’s closed

Had a full day on park today, haven’t seen it this busy during a summer since before the accident.
:D
Park was heaving . Massive queues everywhere for rides, for food, for drinks
Not a complaint it’s nice to see it busy.
They were even giving out free bottle of water at the Smiler entrance ... Free Water !

Great to see them looking after their guests in the heatwave. :)

Quite, our "local" newspaper website has been running this story, I emailed them to say that both coasters had reopened today, they said they'd change their story, but still haven't

Ah another reach plc victim...
It does seem like this year it's reach that's doing the worse reporting on towers unlike previous years.

Open last week. But didn’t open today at all.
IMO they should just open it with warning signs that it’ll be hot inside. If you pass out it’s your own stupid fault.

Really good day today, was surprised the Wickerman opened so getting back on that was a nice surprise. Plus just over an hour from just inside the queue starting from the switchbacks so they were certainly getting the trains out quickly.

Hoping for another good day tomorrow.

No... Just... No...

Duty of care to guests is actually somewhat important, and until they get their fingers out and upgrade the fleet to incorporate air conditioning (which I do wonder how much it would cost and how worthwhile it would be) they will deal with the situation as thus...

It's a pain in the arse for many visitors, but the last thing the park needs is multiple issues of people fainting on a ride which is notoriously difficult to access...

To add that. If they stop it to allow medical to deal with a faint in one gondola then you have all the others without air flow. Mean more will become unwell and faint. Turning it into a heat exhaustion/ heat stroke generating machine.

Fitting air-conditioning to Skyride gondolas is nigh on impossible as air-con units are quite power-hungry - how do you get the power supply to the gondolas outside of the stations? The old gondolas had pretty good ventilation windows on each door, but these had to be sealed closed when Rita opened so guests could not throw items onto the launch track.

Even Disney have not got air-con on their Skyliner system - and this will operate in Florida heat & humidity year-round. Admittedly, they do have ventilation slats on their gondolas facing the direction of travel so some air will be forced through the gondolas. The Skyliner route is way more accessible that Skyrides & they have several portable evacuation platforms that can evacuate an entire gondola in one go.

Whilst I agree it is a pain in the arse for guests when Skyride does close due to heat, but Towers are stuck between a rock and a hard place. If they were to have a medical issue that stopped the ride & as a knock-on effect they had multiple faintings etc - well you can imagine what the Mirror & Daily Mail would make of it.

As an aside, I remember that not long after Skyride opened (must have been in it's first 3yrs as a guess) there was a breakdown that led to a full scale evacuation with some guests having to be abseiled down. It made the papers - I remember one kid being quoted as saying "that was the best ride of the day - better than the Corkscrew" [or words to that effect]. His Dad was quoted as "Never again" [or words to that affect]. A Towers manager I worked with told me that when Skyride reopened it had one of the longest queues on-park for a couple of weeks as people wanted to ride it in the hope of an abseil!
