Linnanmäki: General Discussion

Looks a bit family-ish for Intamin. Linnanmäki was crying out for a proper circuit thrill coaster as presently it's already too family-oriented so hoping this rides better than it looks!

Passed by the park the other day and could see a substantial amount of track already up - hopefully can get some pictures later on this week in what short amount of daylight there is over here :p

Just two pieces of track left to install:

I've been wanting to do Finland for ages and now seeing this is tempting me to book stuff :D

Its not completely fair to judge a POV, but it doesn't look particularly forceful - more Blue Fire than Taron.

Looking forward to the first reviews coming in.

Just a quick post saying that I rode this yesterday and it's a very good ride. Anyones fears about it being a family ride can safely be thrown out the window

There are some very good airtime moments and some of the transistions are fabulous. One particular section has snappy right, left, right, left turns all while descending down at an angle.

For me it's what Icon should have been. I must admit I think I prefer the ride to Taron, however Tarons themeing makes that a complete package whereas Taigia is completely unthemed.

Very good ride!!!!

Having now ridden I have to echo this. Top quality coaster, another Taron for me in that it didn't look hugely good on POVs but it's actually very good in reality. Its real competitor in Europe I'd imagine is iSpeed but this is a far more interesting and varied layout, with some fabulous airtime moments and one incredible inversion (the 2nd).

I'd say this now makes Linnanmäki a park to actively visit. Before this it was a little bit meh but now it really feels a bit more complete for its size.

I must say Taiga has one of the most underrated theme park soundtracks and the train design looks really good. I'm now hoping to visit over the next few years because it looks like the best rollercoaster maybe in Scandinavia possibly beating Helix?!

It wouldn't have beaten it had Helix still been in 2016 condition, but unfortunately I've heard that the rattle on it more recently has hugely affected it's rideability. Taiga is still incredibly smooth even after 2 years and if you ride in the dark, after a full day of operation it's genuinely stunning.

I'm genuinely confused as to how there has never been more hype over this ride, having ridden it today for the first time.

It seemed to me to combine all the best elements of Taron (forceful second launch, pops of airtime, intense corners) with all the best elements of Helix (hillside top hat, insane final inversion, brilliant landscaping). For me it's Europe's best launch coaster and actually it has made me reassess my opinion, particularly of Taron, as this just seemed to do everything an awful lot better.

They also have a very nice Scenic Railway, the best old school woodie that I've ridden, with some incredible ejector airtime near the front depending on the breakman.

The rest of the coaster lineup is poor. The only E-Motion that I felt on the Mack was boredom.

It's the location and the fact there's little in the park to draw people aside from Taiga.

It's a bit like how I feel re: iSpeed at Mirabilandia; barely anyone has been. Although at least they have Katun!

I'd love to get to Finland; it's one country I haven't yet checked out. Poland first mind.

Hi guys, I'm trying to buy a ticket for next week (some day between the 14th and the 16th, didn't decided yet)

First of all the website is a bit confusing but I see there's something called Iik!week Festival going on those days... What is Iik!week? Is it your usual Halloween? So some scary decoration and maybe horror mazes? Does the park change a lot? The fact that they're calling it "Festival" confuses me. Makes me think of a rave or something...

Also I see they sell separate tickets for it... And they cost the same. Is the Day Fun Wristband the normal ticket for the rides and the iik!week one is just for the horror stuff or...? I think the iik!week ticket includes the rides but not sure what's the point of the Day Fun ticket then...

Cheers!

Edit: Ignore me, I just realized that you can't buy a Day Fun Wristband for those dates (the closest date is 30th of September) So the Horror Festival Wristband is what I want.
I still would like to know how is Iik!week though, if anyone here been to it.
