Six Flags Over Texas: General Discussion

I had no idea that we didn't already have a thread for the original Six Flags theme park, Six Flags Over Texas. I suppose that shows how little Six Flags have actually invested in to the park since 2012.

Anyway, Screamscape reported earlier this year that they could be getting a Mack PowerSplash for 2020. One of these was meant to be going to the Six Flags park in Dubai but that project is as good as cancelled and it is thought that Mack and Six Flags have agreed to bring the coaster to the USA instead (it may have already been fabricated).

And now this has appeared which seems to back up the above rumour:

No doubt that all will be revealed come Six Flags Day next month!

I'm pretty sure that 4D coaster, huge dark ride, tallest Star Flyer in the world and numerous flat rides weren't pennies on the dollar! They did the new coaster every year thing for a decade or so, didn't work out too well!

Will be a solid addition, the Walibi ride is great.

I should have been more specific, how little they have invested in attractions that generate attention across the pond! ;)

Not that there is anything wrong with that, I was just surprised we didn't already have a thread here relating to the park.

@Rob Naturally for reasons only known to the enthusiast community, the ride that generates attention over the pond is the one we have over the pond!

I did think we'd see many more of these, perhaps we will in time. For an industry once again looking for launched coasters whilst simultaneously demolishing more traditional water rides by the dozen, these feel like a slam dunk!

Hopefully it won't be too long before we see one in the UK.
