Quick Questions 2012

Does anybody know if Towers2 tickets still on offer on park and would I be able to buy them for a second day of fireworks?

Last year a Towers2 ticket for fireworks was more expensive than a normal return ticket but they did exist. I assume they still do but contact the park to be sure.

Is it true you can't get an annual pass discount for peak times at the hotels? I have just tried booking a festive break and was told I don't get a discount because its peak time.

Cheers

Corporate discounts are only valid off peak but I thought AP discount is year-round. Contact the annual pass office or Sales and Info to clarify

Annual Pass discount has never been a problem in the past, apart from New Year when they decide your loyalty doesn't matter .

You can buy them on park again this year, they are more expensive than the £15 bounceback tickets, but are of course cheaper than buying them on the day. I cant remember the price however, when you are on park just head to the box office, there was a big poster in the entrance with prices.

I've just found this on the map website

Alton Towers Resort Hotel discount is available on Standard Bed and Breakfast rooms only and is not valid for packages, in event periods or for themed rooms. The discount excludes Christmas and New Year and is against the full rate (not web rate). Discount applies for Annual Pass Holders only and cannot be used to book multiple rooms. This discount cannot be transferred to an existing booking or used in conjunction with any other promotional offer. Subject to availability.

Bit gutted but after my appalling stay there last night I'd rather stay in a local bnb. Is it just me or is staying on resort becoming less and less appealing?

They are £17 I believe. :)

2 for 1 Vouchers on Scarefest

Apologies if this has already been asked but just wondering if the Tesco 2 for 1 vouchers will be valid for Scarefest? Exclusion dates on the ticket only say fireworks but it also says they're not valid for special events/concerts/hotel events. Any help from those in the know would be most appreciated as don't want to turn up and get told I can't use them
Thanks!

Re: 2 for 1 Vouchers on Scarefest

Im not sure. I'd say probably not, but its always best to ask. Do you have twitter? If so send them a message (@altontowers)

Re: 2 for 1 Vouchers on Scarefest

You can email Guest Services. :) guest.services[at]alton-towers.com - or give them a call on 0871 222 3330 - if you do ring them ask that you have a 2for1 voucher enquiry.

I would assume if it does not mention Scarefest but does mention Fireworks then, yes, it is valid for Scarefest. Although I'm not 100% sure so can't give you a positive answer.

Hi Bambi,

I have usually found that the terms and conditions on the back of the vouchers give specific dates of validity. The 2for1's I have seen for Alton Towers so far this year, did not seem to exclude Scarefest - where as, Thorpe Park ones seem to have more restrictions.

As others have said, it is best to give them a call to make sure - but usually, if it is not excluded specifically on the vouchers in the small print, then I would say you are fine :) - I have 2 for 1s myself, but no one can make it next week, but I believe they were OK for Scarefest.

Good luck!

Thanks everyone for your replies, Ive emailed guest services to see what they say. I believe they are valid but obviously if I turn up at park and can't use them I'm going to feel a bit of an idiot. I'd obviously rather save some money than pay full price. I suppose a way out of it would just be to step to one side and buy online for 25% on my phone!

Haha!! That's a great idea! ;D

I doubt I'd have thought about doing that. Though don't you have to print the tickets off? Or can you buy "mobile tickets" now? I was involved in a business a few years ago, where you could use your phone to pay or get tickets on - but not sure if they use that service yet or not?

Seems today, for every solution my mind thinks of a problem :-X

I just go with the well used phrase "I don't have a printer" and flash the phone at them - worked for the Olympics so Alton Towers should!

I could of sworn that I posted this last night. (Sorry if it was deleted, it may of already been asked) but is the Alton-Uttox bus later than 6pm during Scarefest?

I'm afraid not, unfortunately this is the last bus back to Uttoxetor. I shall be using that bus to get back from Scarefest is I can't get a lift! It's a shame that there isn't later buses during the event.

Can you fit a motorbike helmet and clothing in a locker, and if so how much is a locker?

Either that's the worst riddle... or yes you can. If you put the helmet on it's side it should be able to fit in, and I'd just put the clothing on top of it. I've only used the Blivvy ones so don't take my word entirely. It'll make sense when you get there! :p
