Legoland Windsor

This has to be the most comical set of awards...

Museum in Ireland which no one has heard of wins Europe’s leading tourist attraction?

The perpetually terrible Thorpe Shark Hotel portakabins masquerading as a hotel is in the same category of nominations as the exquisite Mansion de Lucy at PA.

The list of other nominations for leading theme park are all better than LLW: Alton Towers, Disneyland Paris, Efteling, Europa-Park, Gardaland, Liseberg, and PortAventura World.

There is quite literally no credibility to these “awards”.

The trophy was awarded today to Nick Varney. Here's an exclusive photo:

To be fair EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum is supposed to be very good. But the rest agreed on.

Just been to Legoland today and operations were some of the worst I have ever seen! Queue times were frequently an hour long with very slow dispatches and school groups slowing everyone down. There were always at least two rides down and sometimes up to six rides broken. Closing time was 5pm despite my complaints on Facebook Messenger (Merlin still won't listen). They still haven't replied to me but if they do then I will post it here. Luckily I was doing this on a MAP so I can come back on a quieter day but if I was paying for this then I would have asked for a partial refund.

Odd, I visited the park today and queues were all rather short - generally under 30m, often under 15m (admittedly some of the reported queue times were a little squiffy, greatly over-estimating what the queues actually were).

As for 5pm, it is a shame, and a later close time would probably be welcome. But hey, at least it’s not 4pm, graciously then extended to 4:15pm...

We had a few cases where rides broke down on us after a fair wait (Pirate Falls and Mia's Riding Adventure). We were going by the wait times on the RAP queue bot because that is how long we had to wait and it was frequently an hour.

Perhaps I overestimated how good the park is having not been for years then I found out that it is not as good as how I remembered it.

I'll never understand why people think social media is the best place for full on complaints...

Either do it on park, write a letter or email GS... Sliding into their DMs is pointless...

But why should it be pointless? A company that gets things right, or at least wants to, should be able to do so by the medium of the guests choice. Yes, writing a letter makes a statement, but it doesn’t mean a social media complaint should be taken any less seriously. Facebook Messenger offers all the same capabilities of an email.

General twitter is the best place if you want to make your complaint public - companies in my experience are far quicker to respond as everyone can see it

I chose Facebook Messenger because it was the most convenient, I couldn't find Legoland's email address and I don't have Twitter.
Things I have learnt from going to Legoland
1. The RAP Q-bot times were overestimates so I need to judge the queue myself and join it rather than always using the Q-bot
2. Don't complain on Facebook Messenger because parks don't like it, (still don't see why)

Because companies have a series of hoops that complaints (or any feedback) go through... If these things don't go through the "proper" channels in their eyes then nothing will be done (and even with the proper channels nothing gets done, but you can probably assume it goes to the right people)...

Legoland have one of those contact form things so no email is available... But it only took a Google search of "LLW customer service" to find... They don't hide this information because they do use guest contact for more than just moaning...

Park was closed when filmed, it’s just a PR gimmick showing what you can do with LEGO hence both recipients were outside Monster Party
