Park closing time has changed from 7pm to 6pm for the rest of the weekdays this week.

Also aparrently closed at 5pm yesterday?

Someone at work just spent two weeks on a gig in Blackpool. He's clearly not a fan of the place. But he also came up with a theory that the town is vitally important to the rest of the country....

"You know how when you've got a slug infestation, you put out a jar of beer and watch them all drown themselves? Well that's Blackpool. It's like this massive half-burried can of Special Brew, that attracts all of the slimey human vermin from around the country, and keeps them safely locked away from the rest of us, were they can slowly drink themselves to death."

Whether you agree with that sentiment or not, I'm still laughing.

Actually lold at that. Excellent

Only really go to the tourist areas with my family now but never had any bother anywhere although I’m sure there’s plenty of trouble if you go looking for it

Just you southerners that can’t sup ;)

I've been bottled in King Cotton - innocent(ish) bystander.
One incident that could have happened in any pub anywhere in the country.

It happens in bars and clubs with entry fees and bouncers on the door, so charging to get in wouldn't prevent that.

The reduction in opening hours is nothing short of a disgrace.

Well the Wild Mouse station ‘No Smoking’ is up for SIX HUNDRED POUNDS on eBay. Sold in Flying Machines shop for £250. A bit cheeky if you ask me, but then if someone’s willing to pay it. Don’t think they will be though.

I've posted the 1978 map on the pet project. Quite an interesting look - so much has changed!

Interesting to see how the Thompson family have developed the place and added attractions over the years. You only have to look at the 2015 map of alton towers and now to see how many attractions merlin have eradicated

Well that’s true before Geoffrey died, the post 2000 development has been very slow at Blackpool and a lot of older attractions have been cut.

Great article, Mandy is described as a ‘force of nature.’ The Wild Mouse £600 sign mysteriously vanished, not even in sold / completed items

I’m in Blackpool today - long story work related. But I can indeed confirm what your colleague has stated is correct. I have just walked past a strip club which according to the guy outside (and I quote) has a glass window allowing you to see outside during a dance. Just what I want to see that. Kids on a donkey whilst I have some tart dancing naked in my lap.
No thanks!!

To be the town seems to have no identity. All the old bingo halls and arcades are still there but empty. It seems it’s trying to fight the stag do culture it seems to have been lumbered with. Shame really

Never knew the Monorail had a North Station at the side of the Reel. It looks very much like the black rectangular building which sides the Globe now, with the toilets beneath. Anyone know if that’s the case?
