Should have been 6pm or later last Saturday but management had better things to be doing!

Sept used to be a dead time at Towers but not anymore. Even on weekdays it’s been busy, still 4pm closes though.

That's why I went today, close to Scarefest is usually quiet time... Not anymore.

A lot of it comes down to poor operations too. How is oblivion getting an 1hr queue, it's clearly on 1 station

Operations were good today, and Oblivion was using both loading bays. Fast track and RAP is the main issue. But even still, Towers do handle this a lot better than the other Merlin parks.

Glad I only paid a fiver to get in.

The point I'm trying to make is what happens when nemisis or galactica goes down? The UKs number 1 theme park has another area with just ONE attraction! Second only to Disney eh? God help Merlin next year when poulton ADD another themed area with more than one attraction!
Another point is what happens if I have a 9 year old who isn't quite 1.4 m ? One less attraction!

Key to getting on lots when it is busy is to get in for ERT and rush around the park for the first hour or two. Then after about 12 the park is rammed and you just got to chill out.

Problem is without an annual pass, by the time you are let into the park, wicker man has already got an over hour queue. I wish it was like back in 2015 when pre booked guests also got ERT.

Solution, leave wicker man until later. You should never go to wicker man or smiler first if you don't get in early

Folliwing on from the discussion on the last page, maybe a Zierer Star Shape (like Mechanica at liseberg and (the former) Bling at Blackpool PB) would be an even better fit in Blade's pit, although I think it would still be too tall. Large capacity and would get the crowds in though.

I went on Friday and it was generally alright. Low queues for the most with the highest being 40 minutes. With the lack of kiosks open it did feel like a ghost town at times. Overall it was fine. Nothing too exciting although I did feel a bit sorry for the 2 actors who were trying to encourage people to go to the Dungeons as people were mostly ignoring them. There was a huge school visit too which meant there were a lot of kids about trying to cut queues and complaining ALOT

Going to scarefest for first time in years. Did the mazes at night last time so didn't get night rides unfortunately. So which rides are the best in the dark and which do you recommend?

Nemesis is pretty awesome front row in the dark. Feels like a totally different ride, and out of control. I also found Rita quite good in the dark especially when they had the smoke machine at the end of the launch. Oblivion is also different in that the hole is pitch black when you are inside it, which is quite freaky as usually you see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Don't forget Wicker Man and Thirteen either. :)

I've not actually done WM in the dark yet. Thirteen was ok but I didnt think it was anything special in the dark.
Thirteen is extra dark if you happen to look at the flash after the first drop. And the further back you sit, the more flashes you'll see. Then you're practically blinded for the rest of the outdoor bit.

Wicker Man is incredible in the dark. Not only visually stunning both on and off the ride, but also it appears to go faster. If it does, that's down to the near-12 hours of running rather than it being dark I guess. But still, it's something not to be missed - either to ride or just to look at.

Didn't they used to turn the Oblivion tunnel lights on at night so you had the opposite experience to normal, or did I imagine that?

The whole area around Nemesis looks great in the dark with the music on and the sound of it roaring around the track. Extra atmospheric.

I’d recommend riding them all in the dark tbh (if you have time) Can’t bloody wait for Scarefest.

Its the only reason I wish the nights to draw in quickly!
