Ride/Park Accidents

Was this ride the same unit as involved in the Australia accident or one of the same design?

Next to certain it's the exact same one. This operator was reported to have imported one in 2017 from the operator involved in the Australian incident.

It has an identical colour scheme and details, and is the only one in the UK as far as I know.

Also, looks like it was up for sale too!

How in this day and age can a ride that's already been involved in a fatal accident not be sufficiently refurbed to avoid a second? Particularly given the respective areas of operation of the UK and Australia...

Not great for the industry's reputation really.

Report in the Sun (which I won't link to) from the father of the lad the ejected lady stuck. He was knocked out by the collision but not seriously hurt.

Disturbingly, he was not a bystander but was riding the neighboring scrambler, so not only was the female ejected but sounds like she was struck by the moving neighbouring ride too.

Sounds fortune her injuries are not significantly worse really.

Here's a different sort of accident, the driver of a Chance Toboggan in France has crashed. Luckily everyone involved is okay, not sure about the roller coaster though.

I would be sad to see another Toboggan coaster go! I know, they're shit, but the fact that it's not a spinning mouse means we should make the most of these novelty coasters :p

Hopefully they can fix this one

France - One woman killed another seriously injured when a seat falls from a Star Flyer operating at full height.

Update on the Hull fair incident. The injured woman has been talking to the press but it seems she doesn't recall exactly what happened. It remains unclear whether her restraint failed and opened, or whether she was somehow able to be ejected while the restraint was still in place. She doesn't have a child like physique like the girl who was ejected previously while the restraint remained locked.

Saw this on Coasterforce:
2 people have died in Mexico after an accident on Quimera (formerly Magnum Force) at La Feria de Chapultepec :(
Mexico News Daily are reporting that at Feria de Chapultepec amusement park, all the rides have been found to be lacking in maintenance .

They also report "there were several defects with the Quimera roller coaster and that the park management should have shut it down."
