Theme Park Worldwide

I'm surprised that he didn’t ask her to marry him while in America. Vlogging is ok if you got no commitments back home like a house or kids then it’s easy going to theme parks 2/3 times a week. He does talk in videos about taking his kids to theme parks in the future but like my daughter it’s taken her 7 years to reach the 1.2m tall so I can’t see Charlotte putting up with him still going aboard to theme parks while she stays at home looking after the kids.

Both me and my gf were convinced he was going to propose after happily ever after- what he was saying after that show to Charlotte on camera sounded 100% like a pre proposal speech.

I have an amazing partner who is very tolerant of me jetting off around the world for themeparking even though she doesn't share the hobby as much as Charlotte & Shawn do

I feel like I've drifted onto a Coronation Street forum!

I mean if he had any sense, finish the vlog, go to put camera down in bag and bring back the ring... However, this is Shawn, if he does ever propose he'd do it over the most romantic meal he can think off, chicken nuggets and chips in the middle of the day at Chessington

You put your face on you tube...all chance of a private life is thrown down the pan.

Just because it is like that, doesn’t mean it should be.
I think it's like that if you want it to be. If you appear as yourself on YouTube, you're essentially putting yourself out there in the same way as any other would be celebrity.

There's a bunch of celebrities who appear in the tabloids all the time, but there's celebrities at the same level of fame (or a greater level, you may argue) who have maintained a great anonymity through choice.

I think what Shawn does, how he presents himself and Charlotte, means that there will inevitably be a cult of personality required around his work. There are probably successful Youtube sorts who do manage to retain a private life, but it certainly seems like it's the nature of the beast in order to be successful. This happens more than ever in the current landscape. Fans feel they have a greater, closer relationships to authors and creators, as they're so visible and available. My point being that it is an illusion.

I used to watch Shawn's vlogs quite regularly, but in recent times I've lost interest. A lot of the stuff he posts is pretty repetitive, but I get why the kids like it and it works for him so fair play.

I think I'd probably be tempted to tune in more if there was less Crump on there. I cannot abide him and his over the top ways, and by all accounts a lot of parks only put up with him because of Shawn.

I'm personally not keen on discussing individuals personal live's on this forum. But I equally accept that if someone is putting themselves in the public eye in the form of say a vlog then others are going to take an interest.

So long as we keep discussion in this thread relating to Shawn's videos, their content and what goes in to making his channel what it is (such as his travel plans) then I am happy.

Is it becoming quantity over quality? Just playing to the tune of the YouTube algorithm?

Put up with him in what way? You saying if it wasn’t for Shawn he would be banned? He isn’t that bad is he?

Well from what I've heard his behaviour on site has upset a number of UK parks, particularly BPB.

As someone who has been witness to his unbearable behaviour in person I can fully understand this being the case. A group of us chose to move during the fireworks last year due to his behaviour nearby. He was loud, inappropriate and full of self importance.

I do often see YouTube suggesting such things for me and it seems to be the same people going to the same parks more than a couple of times in a season. If the same group of people are going to Thorpe or the Pleasure Beach, or wherever six times in the season, the videos must be more about them than the park? That holds less than zero appeal for me.

Call me old fashioned (I am), but I quite like visiting a new park knowing very little about it, I don't want to be visiting it second hand before I visit it first hand, that seems perverse to me. Plus it drives forward this 'thing' on forums like this where people have strong opinions about places or rides that haven't seen or visited in real life - that's weird to me.

I'm not into vlogs at all, but it's one of those things that I can half understand the appeal, I just don't get it myself. Like fishing.

Edit: FISHING
