2019: Rulantica

I thought I'd just have a look on the Rulantica website, €328.50 to hire a 4 person 'cabana'!
And that's on top of your €38 ticket each. Are they having a laugh?

You don't pay near as much as that at Disney, Universal or PortAventura. That's ridiculous.

I thought they looked pretty spendy as well.

The benefits don’t seem massive either; kind of putting it into the “more money than sense” category.

That price does include one day admission for one adult, then you have to add on the extra guests ticket for your party size.

A quick google of prices of Cabanas at Typhoon Lagoon, Blizzard Beach and Volcano Bay suggests you are looking at around $300 a day excl admission which isn’t a million miles from what Europa are charging.

You do spend a lot of time and effort looking for things to moan about at EP don’t you?

Disney cabanas are similar in cost and if you are stupid enough to pay that sort of money then more fool you. If they don’t sell I imagine the price will drop.

It doesn't include admission, it says a valid Rulantica ticket is required to buy a cabana.

The small wooden signs at the entrance to rides/areas look very out of place?! I’m really not trying to look for faults here - it just stood out in an otherwise very detailed park.

I agree. I hope that this is a temporary thing, and by the 28th they will be proper signs. :)

I've just realised it does say it at the very bottom of the image, so maybe that package only includes one ticket?

It includes one adult ticket, you then have to buy the rest depending on your party size. It’s what I said originally. :)

Good to see that they look to be ready to open on time.

I’m interested to know what this will look like in person now. The themeing levels are perhaps a little less than I was expecting judging from the video. It does make you appreciate just how well Cariba Creek was done when it first opened (in isolation, parts of CC looked just as good or better than Rulantica). I expect that there will be more plussing to come though, since it’s EP.

I've always said Cariba Creek is a well themed water park. It just hasn't expanded as it should (not helped by being penned in by the hotels on all but the outside).

The scale of Rulantica doesn't help. It's very open, which works fine for an outdoor water park but inside only highlights the building. If each area felt isolated from the others it would feel a lot more emersive. This is where concept art fails because it only shows the view directly in view.

Looking pretty good in my opinion, and it is great to see that they are on schedule for opening day.

Do you know how far along the outdoor areas are and whether they look likely to be completed for opening day? I'd like to do the Wild River this winter no matter what the temperature may be!

Not totally sure on their progress and I've not seen much from them. However despite the surroundings still being very much a work in progress Vildstrøm has been in operation for the test days. Still looks like there's quite a bit to do but hopefully it should be ready for opening day.

Brilliant! And good to see that the water seems nice and warm.

In other news, here is Michael Mack's totally unbiassed opinion of Rulantica...:
