The Brexit Thread

Allow me to ask this in this thread so the General Election thread doesn't go off topic:

What I want out of brexit, is to simply be free of the EU I want the UK to not be subject to EU rules and laws and have the highest authority of the UK...be in the UK where we can see and change it as we see fit!
Can you give me any examples? What are you looking forward to doing after Brexit that is currently not allowed?

Oh sorry, didn't notice this one had become active again.

Who says we have to get rid of those laws, cant we just adopt them into UK law, then work from there?

We can, but they could be ripped up or changed at will.

If we want to produce food for European markets, we'll have to align regardless for export products. Granted, you could produce food to export that is better quality than the food you allow your own citizens to eat. Asinine, but entirely possible.

I don't think the government would necessarily change these laws; they care about the rights of the people and only want the best for us!

If they're elected by the electorate, then surely they would want what's best for their constituents?
IMO, politicians will try and convince the general public that they care about them but really the politicians care more about lining their own pockets and protecting their rich businessmen mates who donate to the Conservative party.
