Grime?

Give towers some wriggle room here

the coaster cars and paths yes keep them clean

but all the ride structures - during the season? Can’t see that working with the amount of scaffolding needed. And theming - we know the budget isn’t there to get this replaced so it’s not down to the AT management but more about what they can afford (again)

I would imagine AT is a breeding ground for grime. All those trees in a valley mist constantly be damp there which would affect the hardware

The thing is, the grime is still there on the first day of the season. It doesn’t get cleaned over the winter either.

The supports of the break run on Rita have been covered in green grime all year, as has most of Nemesis track.

that’s theming - forests have grime

(for clarity - this is sarcasm)

I don't find the park that gimey to be honest. Visit Six Flags and you will see some true grime.

I do, however, feel that there are areas that feel more 'run down' than others - the area around blade, for instance. CCL and Towers Street too. I put this down to not much going on and lack of atmosphere.

I thought the repaint was too white but it has blended in with the grime nicely! Almost a similar shade to the original.

Admittedly some of Altons coasters are tricky to clean but it's achievable.
Thorpe and even Heide have the grime too, aswell as queueline chewing gum issues. Merlin really do need to pay the money and get their parks cleaned more often.

Thorpe doesn't have grime, it has half-painted attractions thanks very much!
The bottom half of Colossus' supports look superb. :D

Indeed. I am Shawn from TPWW would have a jar or two to add to his merchandise collection!

Then on the "family friendly" weekends of the season the Travelling Community could sell their lucky heather to guests & cast a curse on those who refuse to buy.

Won’t work on me, I’ll ride Hex to banish the curse forever.

My son pretended to lick the restraints on oblivian after I told him about the whole licking nemmys restraints lol.

It's quite a shame really that such a stunning Resort, set in an abundance of natural scenery and historic landscaping is let to look like such a run down shambles all of the time.

Earlier this year my grandparents visited (not your typical Sun ticket holder) they made comment after comment of how grubby the place was, and I'm inclined to agree. It's everywhere, and part of me thinks it's partly due to the installations put in place, I remember seeing CBeebies Land caked in mould a year after it opened, TH13TEEN crumbling away and do I even mention the disgusting mess that is the Smiler?

It's not for trying though, I know that the staff work tirelessly, often using their own time and expense on cleaning equipment to get the place looking at least a little presentable, of course I'm sure the behind the scenes of the food outlets are kept immaculate to ensure FSA standards are met, but from what I've seen people post in the past, this is questionable.

From visiting parks all over the world, it appears it's simply a lack of controlled planning and budgeting to ensure the whole Resort maintains a high standard of cleanliness all over, from the grubby and tired hotels, to the shoddy paint peeling, dirty theme park.

It's such a shame to see such a great place fall so low in presentation, as you would expect that to be a pillar of a great theme park, it means Merlin are having to spend money having more extensive work done when the damage gets too far from repairable.
