2019: Rulantica

So as phase 1 of Rulantica sets to open in less than a week, I thought it would be useful to show the artwork of the full project.

Some huge slides and hotels planned on this area. Can't wait to see all of this come to life over the next few years (hopefully)

Sweet Jesus! That just makes the indoor part look tiny... this will be bloody huge!

Europa-Park have released a video showing an overview of Rulantica's construction, and it also gives a glimpse of some of the wonderful Rulantica soundtrack:

They have also released a longer preview video showing off Rulantica:

It looks bloody amazing.

And all of the people are so pretty!

Why can't we have this in the UK?

Having now seen some good videos of Rulantica I'd say there's only one area I have issue with. The rockwork above the restraunt / end of the wavepool. It looks terribly out of place against the bare ceiling. I see what they've tried to do; the old dark ride trick where anything that's black disappears into the background. It would look great if the room was actually dark. But that area will never be dark because the water park needs light!

Apart from that it looks great!

The aesthetics have quite a cold feeling to them, presumably it's baking hot inside.

My old grandma used to take us to Blackpool Sandcastle so she could "close her eyes and pretend she was in Spain", before promptly falling asleep for 8 hours.

The Skog Lagune area looks quite cosy, but I agree with the other areas. I think at least some of that is to do with the theme which has been adopted; the ice themeing is inherently quite harsh. Whereas in places like Blizzard Beach, it’s softened by the planting and its outdoor environment, there’s less of that in Rulantica.

I think the best time to visit Rulantica will certainly be after dark. Some of the images I have seen makes it look very atmospheric.

I'm impressed overall but I don't like the exposed wooden support beams for the roof. Seems like you get theming....loads of space, then wooden beams. That might just be me though.

Having said that, I don't realistically know they could get around that look. I very much look forward to visiting Rulantica on Saturday!!

I think Rulantica looks great mostly, especially for an indoor waterpark. I don’t think any of the slides look groundbreaking but it just looks like a good all around package.

I’d also agree it looks quality at night.
