Hyde Park Winter Wonderland 2019

I really enjoy Winter Wonderland, though mainly for the atmosphere. I've done two rides this year; the VR dark ride (terrible, though strangely impressive queue) and Olympia Looping.

Normally, I only eat currywurst at WW. But this year, it's more expensive than ever before - and the portions seem fairly small. Its easy to find decent currywurst in London nowadays so it's no longer the must-have food it once was. One particular nice thing to try is a Hungarian bread called Langos - it's a fluffy bread topped with garlic butter, cheese and sour cream. It's filling and is also one of the most affordable foods at WW.

How was Munchen (Olympia) Looping?

I was there at the weekend. Had a great time.

The Arctic Refuge Bar is a great place to hang out with dancing and live music. We did Olympia Looping and Wilde Maus XXL.

Wilde Maus XXL is honestly the best example of a modern wild mouse anywhere on Earth. £7. Bang.

Olympia I do because it's Olympia but in truth, I don't massively rate it. It peters out quite badly toward the end and the shoulder restraints just get tighter as the ride progresses.

:)

Yep, of I'm forking out for a coaster there it will be Wilde Maus XXL.

Has anyone spotted Joseph siging yet? Absolute hero.

I must admit that I don't normally rate wild mouse coasters very highly at all, but I'll definitely add Wilde Maus XXL onto my to-do list after your glowing review!

Only just under a month until my first ever visit to the event; it's now pencilled in for 2nd January 2020! Should be a great start to the season; I'm immensely excited to ride Olympia Looping after hearing some fantastic reviews, although I'm admittedly not overly sure what to expect as I've never actually ridden a Schwarzkopf before!

While I'm in the thread, how much do the rides cost at Winter Wonderland, as my parents would like to know and I can't seem to find anything on the website?

Ride prices vary per ride, with the most expensive (eg Munchen Looping) being £9 each.

Ah right. Thanks for the clarification @skyscraper!
No problem Matt. You can pay individually or there is a ride pass that you load cash onto and can be used for all rides (one card covers the whole group). Be sure to decide which main rides you want to do before you get there, to avoid spending too much.

Isn't the ride pass £80 per person?

Wild Maus XXL is just two moderately fun drops tacked on to the start of a bog standard mouse.

For a first time visit I’d say you want to do Olympia and Wild Maus XXL... and Hangover if you like heights and drops... over Hyde Park it’s brilliant!

Would have also said Circus Circus but don’t think it’s there this year... one of the best flats I’ve done!

Think of it like a busy park day where you get on 4 rides for £30!

It's actually not so bad if you're not fussed about riding all the coasters. That alone will cost you £50.
