“You will not be able to go on the rides any more. We will find new uses for the rides, for example a roller coaster could become a treetop tale.”

I was interested until this point. :p

The story behind that place or more accurately the closure and owners at the time is incredible but I cant imagine its the part the city wants remembering

You'd be surprised. The sleazier the story, the closer the people of Berlin hold it to their heart!

Anyway, this could/would make a cool events space. There have already been a few mini-festivals on-site, and I think they're going for a Dreamland 'flexible events space' concept. The way the park looms at the end of the Spree, the Big Wheel shifting in the wind, seems hugely appealing to people. So appealing that in recent years, the land owners finally started to make bank off official guided tours, as a response to the sheer amount of people who wanted to hop the fence to do a spot of 'Urban Exploring'. And this was despite a small army of guards with dogs. Certainly, if I can visit without potentially getting bitten, all the better.
