Following on from the success of Planet Coaster as RCT's next bold step, it seems Frontier have been rather quietly developing the spiritual successor to Zoo Tycoon in the form of Planet Zoo.

It's due for release at some point this year.

It's getting harder and harder not to upgrade my laptop to play these!

If they bought out a Planet Hospital I would have to concede and get one

This looks amazing though! Logical after the successes of Planet Coaster

**Cough** Two Point Hospital **Cough**

Back on Topic. It looks everybit as pleasant as PlanCo and Jurassic World but hopefully the promise of a more indepth Scenario function is true. Jurassic World got boring and grindy fast.

I am litraley building a computer now to finally play PlanCo.

A mate offered to build me one for £700 which would run them comfortably but I just can't warrant spending that much on a computer

I think they have hit the ground so well with Planet coaster and now this. Reminiscent of the old Bullfrog and RCT games.

I'm spending quite a bit more than that... But hopefully I'm getting a machine that will be future proof. (At last in relative gamining terms). Also I had shares in Frontier before Planet Coaster released and the company value exploded, so Frontier are effectively paying for it!

Looks amazing - I wonder if there is a plan to link the two games?

Frontier have said no. Planet zoo uses an updated version of the game engine so both not compatible. Rumoured they will be soon starting on Planet Coaster 2 as one of their next major projects. Would still be a few years away though

Good news (for me anyway) they've announced a console edition of Planet Coaster for Summer 2020, that cant come soon enough tbh.
I'm hoping they'll port over Planet Zoo. Instant buys for me.

I cant wait for the console version. I was so close to buying a gaming pc just for the games but couldn't commit to it. So this is good news! Just waiting for them to bring DayZ to consoles as well

Depends on the functionality of the console version. Odd they have choose this generation of consoles given the new Xbox and PlayStation are out next fall

Next gen consoles are using the same architecture as this gen which is a great thing. It means games from this gen will just run off the bat on the new much more powerful systems. We will almost certainly see an update for this game to take advantage of the new much more powerful hardware, which is close to what a high end PC currently is. It's a great time for console gaming.
