Fantasy Island

So looks like this is going to be a Zierer Star Shape. With the new name Turbulence, it looks as though its Bling from BPB which was later moved to Skyline Park. The ride has been 'undergoing revision' on Skyline's website, so guessing that revision was ultimately dismantling it and shipping it back over here :tearsofjoy:

They've really knocked it out of the park with this one! It will open on Sat 28th March, and there will be daytime fireworks, a ribbon-cutting ceremony and other activities as the ride's opening coincides with the park's 25th anniversary. :)

Knocking it out of the park might be pushing it a tad. Blackpool sold it off 8 years ago and it wasn't even in tip top condition when they did.

What I meant was that no one really expected the park to get a ride like this. ;)

I know fantasy island is often seen as tacky and a bit rubbish, but I feel the Mellors have really made an effort to improve things since they’ve been in charge.

It's true, they have made a large effort, but it is still extremely tacky and cheap, it's still got a long way to go to catch up with some of the other larger parks.

I had loads more fun in 2 hours than I have at most recent Merlin park visits and it was great atmosphere at night, a bit like Southend.

By "cheap" you must mean it's cartoony and has a sense of humour, there's nothing I saw that was "cheap" about it. It was good stupid entertainment!

It's not had the humour and colour scrubbed out like the "proper" theme parks. It doesnt take itself seriously, the point of an amusement park after all!

A big new coaster would be brilliant for it.

It’s been announced today that the Frisbee will be leaving the park, however they say they have another announcement soon. So maybe another new ride?
Has The Frisbee ever been operated at it's full potential? From past footage I have seen it looked fairly tame to comparisons on the German Kirmes.
