Securing nominations for ‘Most pessimistic member’ there.

@Matt N will be along in a moment to say how amazing it will be, working on his nomination too.
I posted my opinion in the David Walliams thread itself, but if you didn't see it:
I do think that this ride could be very good for that mid-ground family audience; David Walliams' books seem to appeal to this demographic, and the fact that Alton Towers keeps referring to this as the "headline attraction" leads me to believe that it could be something quite special!

I find it very strange that the image of The Towers on the new logo looks nothing like The Towers. It has the complete wrong windows and everything and the name being completely off centre is must be throwing everyone's OCD off. It just feels like it was made on Photoshop without any thought in 10 mins.

I know everyone always dissects everything Alton Towers does and pulls it apart. But when you take a step back, no other Theme Park makes such shoddy decisions and lack of detail in everything they do. I think it just comes down to people moan about Alton Towers so much because they give you so much to moan about...

Anyone had any news on the Season Pass bring a friend for this year? Alton are staying very tight lipped about it and wont confirm or deny it is coming back for 2020.

Your complaining about the window design on a cartoon drawing of a castle, that in itself speaks volumes that your just complaining for the sake of complaining.

First of all: you're.

Secondly, I don't think it's asking much for the building to look somewhat how it actually is. You don't see Disneyland Paris changing the castle on its logos and advertisments, they haven't added a conservatory on The Blackpool Tower, and they don't make the London Eye look like a Ferris Wheel. So I'd say it's a pretty fair comment that Alton Towers should look like Alton Towers on... Alton Towers logo.

But it does look like Alton Towers...

This is likely to have been designed by an agency rather than Alton Towers themselves anyway.
99.99% of people are seriously not interested or even going to noticethat the windows on a logo are not 100% to scale or accurate. If you want to take that view then look at the regular/old logo because that is far less accurate.

Seriously? It looks like my memory of the Towers. In the nine years since I first visited I've not once looked at the logo and thought "oh the castle is inaccurate"

The layout of the building towers is identical to the previous logo, which was broadly the same as the version before that as well. The logo has been a cartoonish representation of the building layout for the last 26 years (the round logo started in 1994) and the tower heights in the logo have been broadly similar ever since.

I'll shorten down my argument; it doesn't look as good as the original one IMO, which looks more accurate.

It's not bothering me I'm just pointing out which I prefer and why...

It's hardly like the shape has changed overall...

We've been complaining for years the park map hasn't changed. Suddenly the logo has a modern refresh whilst still maintaining its identity; it's crap? If anyone thinks they can do better then by all means; I implore them to do so. That goes for any ride concept art as well; it appears to be a tedious cycle that crops up every time.

Park map from 1994 and the logo is still basically the same, castle turret to the left, tall tower to the right. It has barely changed since, just been updated several times.

I mean I'm not trying to start a big debate, but The Towers in that logo look a lot more like the real thing than the 40th Anniversary one. That's my point.

To me all these logos look the same and none look identical to the real-life towers only the large central window is the key defining part of the towers layout facing the lake.

All iterations of this logo seem to be (from left to right)
tree
tower with crenellations
short building
larger tower with large window, pointed roof with two "spikes" either side
shorter building with windows
tall tower (with dome in pre-2020 versions)
tree

only main difference with all pre-2020 versions are the buildings/walls behind the trees.
