In some 2020 news:

- The Rock Cafe is apparently receiving a new ordering system. Service can sometimes be a little slow, so this is hopefully a positive move. I wonder whether it will be a touch order point or perhaps iPad based?

- the train and monorail are receiving a new service area as part of the new Pirates ride building.

- a new company has been formed for the creative planning side of the park, called Mack NeXT (think Imagineering). Mack Solutions will now be the company which deliver these projects.

- There is no new film planned for the Magic Cinema at the moment.

- The drinks refill system employed at Rulantica is planned to roll out across EP.

- There will be more regional products available in the Black Forest House.

- As reported in the Pirates thread, Bamboe Baii will no longer host a daytime show, rather the stage space will be used for additional seating. The restaurant format and layout will be changed and enlarged to offer more choice.

Have we got a 2020 thread yet?

We do now!

I noticed the new train and monorail service areas being constructed when I was there the other week, they look to be a vast improvement that the previous service areas. Overall the new Pirates bulding seems a lot more substantial!

Not sure what's changed or what this means, but posted on the quick news on ep-fans.info:

message from the Europa-Park Camp Resort: "From now on we will leave our campsite open for you throughout. Arrivals are possible from 7 am to 11 pm . Electricity, showers, toilets and washrooms are included in the price If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact our camping staff at 0152/08877478."

The camp resort is now open all year now rather than being just seasonal like the park. I imagine part of the reason is that they probably want to offer a cheaper accommodation option for Rulantica guests.

Another day, another new Mack company.
The Mack family plans to enter the wine business. In its Friday edition, the Alsatian daily Dernières Nouvelles D ’Alsace (DNA) reports that the Mack holding is in negotiations about the purchase of Ollwiller Castle in Wuenheim. The current owner, Noel Gros, has confirmed to the DNA 95 percent of the purchase. A Europa-Park spokesman said on Friday that the Mack family was very interested in buying the Domaine d'Ollwiller.

The castle, which dates from the 18th century, includes 90 hectares of forest and 50 hectares of meadow, as well as 25 hectares of vineyards. The current owner, the Gros family, is an entrepreneurial family from Mulhouse and has owned the castle since 1825. Thomas Mack, it is reported, has visited the property several times and explained that his family wanted to continue running the winery when making a purchase. As is well known, Thomas Mack also did an internship at a winery in South Africa during his training in the hotel business.

Not a wine person myself but any wine crafted by the Mack family is sure to taste great!

I look forward to them announcing not only their plans to be the first theme park with a hotel in space, but also their hyperloop system connecting Rust to all the moons of Saturn.

Europa-Park have announced an "Experience It All Package" for the 2020 summer season, which includes 2 nights in a resort hotel, 2 days theme park entrance and 1 day Rulantica ticket on the day of departure.

Full details can be found here, and the prices start from €275pp (5-bed room in El Andaluz).

Personally I'm offended that not even Europa consider themselves a 3-day park!

It's worth noting that unlike the Europe Round Trip/Hotel Hopper this package doesn't offer any sort of discount for booking it. It's solely for convenience as the Rulantica, park ticket and hotel room are all at the usual prices just bundled together for ease (although you can bundle them together at checkout anyway if you book a standard room!).

If you want to have the ability to choose your entrance day for Rulantica etc, just book separately :)

Glad the rumours of the end of Gazprom were true. They've also been removed from the list of partnerships on EP's website.
Just hope there won't be a new sponsor and instead we get a nice new section of themed queueline in part of the building.

EP do like a sponsor for their major rides, so I suspect we will see one of sorts. I am intriguded to see what they are going to do with the building though, the plans must be very different for them to have gutted it.

I do feel the building is a bit under used. It’s usually empty of people in there, and it’s so large. Also the blue fire queue is a waste in there, with so much dead space to the left hand side of the queue line due to the massive screen rooms.

Doesn’t really fit with the rest of the theme of blue fire and the area
