Europa-Park have revealed their minimum opening hours for the 2020 season. A longer season that 2019, with the park opening roughly a week earlier and closing roughly a week later.

They also seem to be open on Saturday 21st March, which is a week before the advertised start of the main summer season on Saturday 28th March.

I’m planning on visiting during the winter season this year. What’s the historic cost of a ticket at this time? The winter prices haven’t been announced yet. Thanks!

Usually €5/day less than the preceding summer.

So, erm, the new Blue Fire logo:

Can't say I am a fan.

Appalling.

Now, Roland. You have a month to improve it.

What an awful logo. Real shame it just didn't go sponsorless. The Gazprom Hall is now the "Nord Stream 2 Dome".

Many according to Looopings some kind of major work is taking place at the Swiss Bobsled.

Interesting titbit from the Looopings article:

Logo
On social media, amusement park fans are skeptical about the change and the new logo, which has the same color scheme as the official Nord Stream 2 logo, "the logo was made by our sponsor," responds Europa-Park.

"Hi there, here's our ride we spent literally years theming and perfecting. Chuck us over whatever logo you'd like plastering on it and you've got a deal"

The creative teams at the park must be fuming that complete control was handed over to a sponsor for something as prominent as a logo. Absolutely ridiculous.

Yeah, it is crazy that they gave creative control for the logo to a third party sponsor, but that is what I suspected upon seeing the logo. There is no way that Europa-Park's creative teams would have come up with something so dire.

They almost got lucky that the original Blue Fire logo had similarities to the Gazprom logo, and so only minor changes were required. But it is tragic how it has gone from that very classy logo to this cheap and lazy logo. The graphic element of it does not even look like fire, it is more of a wave.

Hopefully we will see a change sooner rather than later. The Mack's have such high standards and cannot be happy with this, surely!?

Because sometime EP do have stupid ideas. This seems to be one of them.

Here is some concept art for the Nord Stream 2 Dome:

And a description:

From spring 2020 you can expect a cinematic spatial experience and media staging on huge LED surfaces in the new “Nord Stream 2 Dome”, which invites you on a visually stunning journey through the world of Nord Stream 2. In an 8-minute animation, you dive into the underwater world of the Baltic Sea and follow the construction of the extraordinary infrastructure project "Nord Stream 2".

After the tour, rollercoaster fans will love the ride with the blue fire Megacoaster powered by Nord Stream 2, while everyone else can refresh themselves in the café.

Great to see that EP are adding some new random theming to Bored Barnes though, that's more like it! :D

Nord Stream 2 isn't completed yet. The whole project is shrouded in political controversy.

At a recent press conference the park gave their assurances that they will open as planned for 2020 and are in contact with authorities regarding the Corona Virus situation.

However they also teased some of the upcoming new additions for this year.
- Geister Schloss will have a new story-telling animatronic in the queueline.
- The new Adventure Parade in time for the park's 45th Birthday will have 12 new floats including EP characters, Piraten in Batavia and Snorri.
- The new rebuilt Dutch facades have been rebuilt with an unique attention to detail and flair.
- The queueline of Piraten in Batavia will host a preview area of the new attraction until guests can discover it for themselves when it opens in the middle of the year.
- Guests will have the unique opportunity from this year to create an ice cream to their own taste in the "Magnum Pleasure Store" near Wodan.
- The new Batavia film will be in 2D but still will have some surprising effects.
- Globe Theatre will be home to the "Times Three - Acrobatic Show"
- New magic show in the Europa Park Teatro (replacing Rulantica the Musical)
