Scarefest 2012

We found No7 Towers Street, it's in the Box Office.
Where?! I searched high and low with a member of staff that works in there, to no avail!

It was on one of the posters at the front desks, quite a small one only a4 sized and the qr code isn't very big either.

Yeah, dead in the middle on a pillar where the tills are. Very embarrassing going in there purely to scan it.
I told them exactly what I was looking for, and as I was doing it on my iPad, they saw anyway! I didn't care, and they laughed!

I'm not sure whether it's been mentioned before, I haven't browsed through the topic much.

Yesterday I heard some news that there are going to be a few changes to Carnival since the Preview weekend, and by a few changes, apparently a few dramatic changes, However this is only rumor and I wouldn't hold my own breath to it.

Simply something I was told.

On the lighting front, I do have to remind everyone that the awesome movers which were hired and put all around Blivvy's drop in 2010 ended up getting vandalised by members of the public, costing the park a LOT of money. I'd have to question what the motivation to splash out on anything similar would be after incidents like this (and other similar). The investment in all the new LEDs last year, while small, I view as a good start :)

As for ride teams splashing out a little to gel Nemmy's floods I really really don't see an issue... It's just staff showing some love for their workplace and really very inexpensive (wouldn't surprise me if the gels and gaffa had been sourced from within the park), in the same way as the coloured lights on the monorail, the green light and smoke machine in RMT's tunnel, the Nemesis bus's bloody handprints/messages and the various skeletons on traffic lights and sales booths! To me it's no different (and probably no more expensive) than bringing in a pumpkin to decorate your ride platform (see rapids last year :p)

I'm thinking I might bring my own stash of gels this weekend and sort Nemy out for them if it hasn't been done.
...Then I will send them an invoice, like the lighting equivolent of cleaning someone's windscreen at traffic lights then demanding money. :p

Ahaha! I'd say about as many of Nemmy's floods that can be gelled without compromising like, safety and being able to see, what have been done. Including both of them on the bridge-sign-archway-thing :)

Take a look now - It's an arrow on the far right of the page. :)

Regarding ride stations and areas of the park being left for staff members to decorate off their own backs, did they literally pay for it out of their own pockets or what?

If so, it seems like Merlin really do take advantage of the fact that many people who work at Towers are incredibly passionate about the place. Can you imagine any other workers on close to minimum wage pay doing such things? It's like Tesco telling all its checkout staff to decorate their own till individually - don't think it would happen xD!

Carnivals finale wasn't ready for the weekend so yes it is expected to have changes. All mazes will have changes as the creative team behind the mazes takes on board the reviews. This should make the great amazing hopefully.

Think there will be some changes to lighting and decoration but I doubt it will be big, I know a lot of stuff got damaged on Sunday.

Yeah I've always thought that to be a joke. For the park to give them literally no budget to decorate their ride/area (for the most part) and simply rely on their employees comes across as very poor.

Nope it's true. If you want your ride to look good, you pay for it. I spent £50 on air station when I was there and all I got was a plastic medal saying thanks.

Sorry for the slight change of topic on scarefest theming, but can anyone please answer this question about The Sanctuary?

When I went through it last Saturday, near the start there was a fireball effect. I'm not quite sure exactly why it happened.. I have a pretty bad memory of the starting room, I can remember boiling pans, some other cool theming, and thats about it. :p Can anyone clear this up for me as to what reason there was for the effect? Much appreciated. :)

To answer your question :)

If you notice the TV behind the bar to the left once you enter the lounge room, it explodes hence the actor shouting 'who broke my TV?' or aiming at some people 'you broke my TV!'.

Aha, thanks very much. :)
I didn't hear any comments like that from the actors..
Although I did get threatened to get my face cut off if I went downstairs. :p

I got all sorts said to me in the Sanctuary :p Looking forward to seeing if they will pick on me when I return this weekend.
