Hersheypark: General Discussion

You haven't ridden an RMC, have you?
No, but I think other British theme parks could build an RMC if they thought outside the box a little. It's only Thorpe who could really build a B&M hyper.

I would also be over the moon if Thorpe built a B&M hyper. A pure airtime machine would be great in the UK and Thorpe Park is the only place that seems like it could happen. They have a large stretch of straight land (the former train track to the farm) and planning permission is possible.

An RMC would also be amazing but like Matt said there are others that could build one, and arguably better. If Towers built one it could be a great terrain coaster as well. Let Thorpe Park build the ride that works well on flat open land.

A number of others could, but not sure if they would. A B&M Hyper would be a good fit for Thorpe, for sure. They are great rides.

Just a quick one to say Hersheypark is quite possibly my favourite park in the world.

A wonderful family atmosphere, long opening hours, good food and a solid coaster line up.

The town itself is great too, lovely people, traditional charm and not a fast food restaurant in sight.

Chocolate Town and Candymonium are progressing nicely:

There has been snow in Hershey, and Hersheypark have posted this flyover video showing off progress on Candymonium and Chocolate Town:

When I lived in the States in 2009 Hershey Park was my favourite park i visited. Absolutely brilliant place and it's only got better since. I'd love to go back.

I quite like the compact nature of Hershey Park, not to say it's small but it's quite packed in. I hope the new area doesn't feel too sprawling.

Sure the world's worst named roller coaster will be a hit. Looks great.

I really don't rate Hershey overall. I found the layout to be frustrating and when there are crowds, you can certainly feel it on the pathways particularly by Comet. It's a bit Liseberg-y in terms of appearance yet lacks the charm.

Skyrush however is sublime. Great Bear is severely underrated. Fahrenheit and Storm Runner both great fun.

My favourite park in the US (not including Knoebels cos that's basically a fun fair in the woods). Cannot wait to go back there at some point.

Skyrush is up there with Steel Vengeance for me.

If I heard the name “Candymonium” for a ride and I had no context, I’d be thinking kiddie coasters/small flat rides, not a bloody B&M hyper!

Candymonium is testing!

Looks to be carrying some very good speed for a first test run, especially through the turnaround. I hadn't quite realised just how short it actually is though.

Candymonium is looking absolutely fantastic! Those hills should provide phenomenal airtime, it carries great speed through the layout, and I also don't think it looks too short, either; a good length, in my opinion, with plenty of elements crammed into it!

So all in all, I'm loving the look of it!

To be fair Matt, I'm yet to see a ride being built that you don't like the look of. ;)

But as my number 1 coaster is also a B&M hyper, this one is particularly exciting to me!
