Drayton Manor Park

They have had similar flooding like this in the past. So while the timing is bad. I would have hoped they have contingency plans in place.

It must be noted though that the flooding is particularly bad here in Tamworth right now. The Snowdome for example (5 min walk from my house) currently has a completely flooded car park. The carpark is known to flood. But never totally. The bottom of the steps upto the entrance are submerged. The water has never been this high in my lifetime.

You'll be surprised how much damage flood water can do. Back in 2016 our bungalow just only had a few mm of flood water enter our house, it was enough to cause £1000's worth of damage as well as ruining irreplaceable sentimental stuff too . It not just the moisture, but flood water is usually contaminated too due to being mixed with sewer waste.

Unfortunately yes, I sincerely dont think this looks good for them.

I really do hope it survives; for the sake of having one of the best themed areas in the country. Even if the rest of the park is a little bit crap.

That's interesting -the Jumbo Jet depicted there is clearly a travelling version, where the supports are arranged around a wide column which I believes forms part of the crane for ease of assembling. According to RCDB, the model went on to Nigloland (and later Parc de la Vallée) where it operated as Bobsleigh - but the pictures show a ride with park-style supports like those on the park models of the Jet Star 2 and 3.

Either:
a) that photo was a stock image rather than an image of the one at Drayton Manor
b) the support structure was changed after Drayton Manor dismantled the ride
c) there were two separate Schwarzkopf City Jets installed under the name Jumbo Jet
d) RCDB is wrong, and that model did not move to Nigloland - could it actually be the model that later appeared at Lightwater Valley?

Just for bonus confusion, the name 'Jumbo Jet' is normally associated with a totally different model from Schwarzkopf's Jet Star series...
