They were quite strict on not letting them in last year so I would expect them to do the same this year. Besides, 30 minutes is not worth the effort!

Was just thinking that myself, if it was an hour I’d be a bit disappointed, but it doesn’t really bother me. I always like to head to forbidden valley first anyway! Kind of tradition

Did they knock wicker man and smiler down or something? Sorry I wasn't aware

Wickerman hasn’t got the intensity and The Smiler just isn’t my sort of ride, feels like there is no journey taken on the layout, if you get where I’m coming from.

But the great thing about being enthusiast is we all love different things !

They have found a jet washer :)

State of that though.

I wonder if they'll jet wash the "mark on the park" bricks on the entrance plaza again this year?

Not much use unless you use an algaecide after, especially at this time of year.
Will look bad again in three months, just in time for Spring Bank.

On an entirely separate note, it seems the recent new website design for altontowers.com is a part of a wider project across all of Merlin's attractions... the Chessington, London Eye & Warrick Castle websites have been updated with identical designs. Seems to be more of a 'corporate look' approach by Merlin (and I imagine makes it easier to manage websites behind the scenes).

I jetwash my (concrete) garden once a year and it is most certainly not that black. That's a good 2-3 years of neglect right there!

To be fair, your garden doesn’t have a rollercoaster chucking grease and oil from its wheels and track, and stacks and stacks of brake dust dumped on it, as well as thousands of guests every hour passing by. The park takes a hammering just from the shear volume of people, and in areas like this there’s nothing rubbing it off, just adding to it constantly.
