Time for a new topic since the old one was up to a fair few pages! This is the place for any quick questions relating to Alton Towers.

We also have the following topics relating to trip planning:

  • Offers, Deals and Vouchers - If you're looking for details on the latest offers available at Alton Towers
  • How Busy? - If you're wondering how busy the park could be on your upcoming trip

You may also find the answer to your question in the old topic or on the Alton Towers FAQs over on the official website.

IF you buy Season passes, would you be able to then use the 15quid friends tickets also on the first day? or would there be a way to go up and collect one of the season passes in advance?

You can order the season pass online and get free delivery with 3-5 working days, you don't have to collect at the park :)

If i upgrade my merlin pass to collect at towers where do i collect it from?

I'm thinking i've seen people get passes printed at guest services...so how would i get into the park?

Sorry if this is a stupid question:eek:

Show your booking confirmation at the ticket windows, they will give you a ticket to get through the turnstiles and then you exchange it for your annual pass at the Box Office at some point during the day.

The friends and family vouchers you get with your Merlin annual pass... do you need to reserve anything or do you just turn up? I assume you go to the usual tickets window?

If you're on about the Share The Fun vouchers then you just turn up with them. The 50% off that you get with the MAP has to be booked 24 hours in advance I believe. :)

So Merlin passholders get vouchers and you can get 50% off tickets all year? I'm completely ignorant on all of these perks

Yes. The 3 Share The Fun vouchers you get are usable for £15 each (or is it £10? can never remember) at any UK Merlin attraction. You can then also book friends and family tickets online at any UK attraction for 50% off the gate price. The latter is good for the midways, whereas the former is useful for the theme parks as they are typically twice as much to get in.

did you not read the perks page when you brought or we you that excited about having a pass and all the exciting things and memories you will make while using it :)

Well everybody I know has passes so these perks are normally irrelevant to me, but I've just heard my folks want to visit this year so scoping out options for them :)

Whats the discount for Friends and Family on the MAP?

Contemplating getting one

Some of the newer friends and family vouchers have a code so you can book online, meaning you just go straight to the turnstyle rather than having to queue up.

If it’s got no mention of it then you’ll have to queue.
